I’m very grateful to be an active board member for the Center for Shamanic Education & Exchange, & to support indigenous communities in sustaining their wisdom, culture, practices & traditional ways of life.

Here we are visiting Henry, in his Shipibo community in the Ucayali River basin in Peru. He is part of the Kurin Metsa School there, where Shipibo youth apprentice with an Onanya elder & study plants, icaros, & other healing traditions.

Mary also specializes in the intersection of consciousness and business, combining tenets of conscious capitalism and shamanic wisdom. She is member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, whose work perpetuates the shamanic wisdom, culture, practice, and traditional ways of life of first nation, original people worldwide. She is also a leader for Shamanism without Borders, a branch of The Society for Shamanic Practice, the global response network of shamanic practitioners who tend to traumatic events.

Mary is honored to have studied with the Wixarika (Huichol) people in Mexico and with Shipibo communities in Peru. When not espousing the virtues of plants and finding one’s joy, Mary can often be found in Austin, Texas, happily singing, dancing to live music, and hunting for swimming holes.
