***Important information regarding Beyfortus***
(RSV monoclonal antibody injection which reduces severity of RSV infections)

Beginning OCTOBER 1st our office will have a limited number of Beyfortus doses available to administer to patients UNDER 8 MONTHS OLD at their routine wellness visit.

On the mornings of October 14-16 (Mon, Tues, Wed) we will hold a SHOT ONLY CLINIC for Beyfortus for patients under 8 months old. These appointments will be on a limited basis so please call ASAP to schedule if interested. The nurses are available to answer questions at the time of your call.

Depending on remaining supply we plan to open up more shot only clinics before RSV season intensifies.

This monoclonal antibody is only available for children under 8 months old or certain high risk patients.

Please share this post to anyone who may be interested. We are seeing a small number of RSV cases but the season has not intensified yet. This is a good time to receive the injection if interested.

Dear Parents,

There is a new medication that will be available this RSV season that reduces the risk of infants developing severe RSV disease. This medication is not a vaccine in that it doesn’t stimulate the infants immune system to create its own antibodies against the RSV virus. The medication is actually a synthetic antibody against the RSV virus itself. This RSV antibody is a one time injection that lasts for approximately five months; therefore, providing protection for one RSV season. In the study submitted to the FDA for the drugs approval, hospitalization rates from RSV were decreased by 80% in those infants that received this medication. Based on this data, it was approved for all infants less than 8 months of age entering their first RSV season. The most common side effects were rash (0.9%) and local site reaction (0.3%). We need your help in trying to estimate the number of doses needed for parents interested in their infant receiving this RSV antibody. Please answer the following survey.
