Today on the mat, I remembered:
We often don’t see what is—we see what was.
Old fears, old stories, old reactions quietly shape how we show up.

But the breath is our invitation back.
Back to the body.
Back to the present.
Back to peace.

“Atha yogānuśāsanam” — Now, the practice of yoga begins.

A Course in Miracles Lesson 1 says:
“Nothing I see means anything.”

Both teachings begin with a single invitation:
Be here now.
Let go of meaning. Let go of expectation. Let the present moment be your path.

Every time we step on the mat, it’s an opportunity to begin again — not with effort, but with openness.

This one verse is the heart of the entire yoga practice. It’s not about the pose. It’s about presence.

Each time we step onto the mat, we’re practicing more than movement—we’re practicing stilling the mind. We observe the chaos without reacting, we breathe through discomfort, and we return again and again to the quiet center within us.

Yoga teaches us that we are not our thoughts.
We are the awareness behind them.
And through that awareness… comes peace.

Yoga reminds us that peace isn’t found in perfect circumstances—it’s found in how we relate to our thoughts.

Yoga isn’t about touching your toes. It’s about stilling your mind.

According to Patañjali, the ancient sage who compiled the Yoga Sutras, “Yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ” (Sutra 1.2) — Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.

Not flexibility.
Not handstands.
Not the perfect pose.

Yoga is the practice of coming home to yourself.
Of noticing your thoughts without being ruled by them.
Of remembering that peace is already inside you—beneath the noise.

So the next time you roll out your mat, or pause for a conscious breath… know that you’re practicing yoga. Right here. Right now.

Translation: Now, the teachings of yoga begin.

This simple line carries a profound message: “Now” is the doorway into practice.

Not yesterday, not someday—but now.
In this moment, we arrive. We turn toward presence, stillness, and inquiry.

Patañjali reminds us that yoga is not a performance, but a path—a conscious decision to step into awareness, again and again.

A little late but this is 47!!😱 I am so disconnected with this number and that’s a good thing except for it reminds me how it’s just a number. You can be strong in your 40s, 50s, and on. I believe it. You gotta put in the work daily but trust me it’s worth it. My goal in life is show women it’s possible! DM me if you are interested in working together one on one. Blend 1 cup bone broth, 1/2 cup full fat canned coconut milk (or milk of choice), 2 scoops chocolate protein powder, 1 TBL maple syrup (optional) heat and serve. So good!!!
