WEEK ONE DONE ✅
36 youth wrapped up this week’s Youth Leadership Conference! Students heard from local organizations about what it really means to be a leader — and put those skills to the test during our Shark Tank challenge.🦈💡 Students were tasked with researching and designing a fundraising opportunity for the coalition.

We can’t reveal the winner just yet 🤫 but let’s just say... we have some really cool plans for 2026! 🤪

Any guesses?! 👀

🌨️❄️🌧️ With the days getting shorter and the nights longer, many of us may start feeling the winter blues. But did you know this could be a sign of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?

🔍 What is SAD? It's a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons, beginning and ending around the same times each year. As winter approaches and the daylight decreases, SAD can slowly creep in, affecting our mood, energy, and daily routines.

👀 Symptoms to Watch For:

- Feeling depressed most of the day, nearly every day
- Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed
- Low energy and increased fatigue
- Difficulty sleeping or oversleeping
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Feeling sluggish or agitated
- Difficulty concentrating
- Frequent thoughts of death or su***de
🗨️ If you're experiencing these symptoms, remember, you're not alone. SAD is more common than you might think, and it's important to talk about it.

If you or a loved one is experiencing SAD symptoms, please reach out for help from a mental health care provider. For emergencies, contact the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline toll-free at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). You also can text the Crisis Text Line (HELLO to 741741) or use the Lifeline Chat on the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline website https://988lifeline.org/chat/

🤝 Stay tuned for our next post, where we'll discuss who can be affected by SAD and how we can support each other through these winter months.
