Thanks, Mae Mae! DeBeen WS bestie, Mae Mae has visited several times this month, chosing a matcha latte and drip coffee . . . and a beautiful sweatshirt that he's long craved.

Mae Mae says, "I had been eyeing it for a year. I love it! Couldn't wait to take pics with it!"

What a beautiful, bright, warm, blustery, autumnal Sun! Maybe it’s the last day to truly savor the season. Next week, things shift to the holidays and last six weeks of the year. 39 days until Christmas!

It's the tail end of autumn! This biweekly coffee walk takes us to Country Park, which is in the Greensboro Battleground Parks District, between the Science Center and the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park.

The park is family- and dog-friendly, with much to enjoy for most ages and accessible. See the lakes with fish, picnic shelters, fun paddle boats (closed for the season), clock and carousel, sculpture at the entrance to the Science Center, canopy walkways (zipline closed for the season), Guilford County Veterans' Memorial (featured earlier this week), entrance to the military walk with many more trails, sights and Greenway access, and so much more.

We were fortunate to visit last week on one of the most beautiful afternoons of the year. We walked a nearly two-mile loop of mostly paved trails and raised walkways.

Included are biking paths and facilities, a dog park, and playgrounds. Restrooms and many benches for rest and contemplation are provided. There is free, ample parking and year-round access, more or less sunrise to sunset daily.

Country Park is about 45 min from DeBeen in HP and WS. It's easy to find, near the Science Center and military park, both of which we've previously featured on coffee walks. The parks district is close to busy Battleground Ave and the outer loop that connects with the rest of the Triad.

In honor of veterans today and every day. We thank you for your service!

These photos were taken last weekend at the Guilford County Veterans' Memorial. Here's some information on the memorial:

"Dedicated on Sept. 14, 2002, this privately-funded monument honors veterans past and present who served our nation. More than 1,200 personalized paver bricks honor members of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines who wore the uniforms of our country and defended our freedoms. . .

"The Guilford County Veterans’ Memorial sits on approximately one acre of professionally-landscaped ground in Country Park, one of Greensboro’s most popular places to enjoy. The site is a place for reflection, education, and thanks.

The Memorial is free and open to the public during park hours," which are pretty much sunrise to sunset.

The closest parking locations are at Orman Road and at the Greensboro Science Center. Or park at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and walk over to the side of the lake. It's a beautiful time of year to visit!

Sabrina says, "It was a hot maple bourbon latte with whole milk. Yes, we come to DeBeen often! I like to go and edit photos. DeBeen is our favorite coffee shop, and we still go even though we moved out of High Point!
