Thanks so much to Allen for his story yesterday morning. He stopped by DeBeen WS for a black "Americano and some banana bread. It was all great."

Allen says, "I hung out at the original DeBeen HP way back in the day but moved away. My company Interior Elements just opened a Winston office, so I plan on stopping at DeBeen whenever I come visit."

The new Interior Elements showroom is across from DeBeen in the Bailey power plant. Allen says, "Interior Elements is a premier commercial interiors firm that's aligned with Allsteel manufacturing. We provide furniture and design solutions to corporate clients, healthcare, K-12, and higher education. We're one of the largest and most innovative firms in the Southeast. We love this girl-dad shot of Adam with his daughter, shot at DeBeen WS on Sat afternoon. We’ve recently been sharing sweet shots of Adam with his family. All the "fitnuts" love our vegan gelato!

Five-year-old NF “got the chocolate gelato, and peanut butter fudge for me! I also had a small, hot Chai-Coffski with skim milk. Keeping it lean-ish. I loved it!

Happy National Dog Day! We've taken the liberty of resharing Amber's video of sweet Molly from two years ago. Molly is a Pomeranian and emotional support animal (ESA). She loves her puppaccinos and dog walks to DeBeen WS!

Remember that pup cups, whipped cream in a mini cup, are always free. Just ask a barista, when you place your order! Every day is dog day at DeBeen!

We do request that if you and your dog hang out in the cafe for awhile, that he or she be certified as a ESA or service dog. In the seating areas outside, it's not a problem so long as your furry bestie is on a leash and well behaved.

How about whipped cream or cold foam on top of your drink or gelato? Don't you deserve a treat today?

It's the end of Aug! Labor Day weekend is next week. Does it seem that the summer . . . flew by?

For us too. Aiming to capture the tail end of the season, for this biweekly coffee walk, we broke a few of our self-imposed rules. The location is definitely family-friendly and good for most ages and accessible. But there's an admission charge, and we don't show most of the walk part of the coffee walk.

We visited the new Cole Family Butterfly House at the Greensboro Science Center. We wanted to share the experience before it temporarily closes in early Sept, reopening in May, next year.

See the beautiful flowers and butterflies, including monarchs, swallowtails, admirals, painted ladies and more. When you go, be careful because they fly all around, alighting on the pathway and maybe on you!

Sit still and let the butterflies come to you. Be quiet and observe. Enjoy their gossamer magic!

For the actual coffee walk, we visited the rest of the Science Center, including the small zoo, natural habitat, and aquarium. While we're saving those photos for another time, walking around with your coffee through the exhibits is included with the cost of admission. Definitely stay hydrated!

Open year-round, the Greensboro Science Center is about 45 min from DeBeen in HP and WS. It's easy to find with ample parking on Lawndale Drive, near the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, which we've previously featured. It's close to busy Battleground Ave and the outer loop that connects with the rest of the Triad.

Ellie says, "I got a decaf iced Americano with half-and-half and pumpkin, because I’m the kind of person who likes pumpkin year round. DeBeen is the only coffee shop I know that has it!

"I also got the gluten-free-vegan apple cinnamon muffin because I’m gluten-free. I love coming to DeBeen to grab a baked good that I can actually eat!

"I've been coming to DeBeen for years. I'm a huge fan of the environment. I love the late hours too, so I can work as I have (almost) three children. I need a place to escape to be productive on my longer work days!

"I own a branding and marketing agency called Providence Creative Co. (providencecreative.co). I frequently visit coffee shops around the Triad to work independently on my designs projects and meet with clients. I love the freedom of owning my own business. I also love supporting local and meeting new people while I’m working!"
