Reliable Car Needed! Our nonprofit Partnership for Proactive Health is looking for some angels who can help a Central Ohio family with a reliable car to get to school, work and daycare (2+ hour commute). We met this family through our program and they are working hard to lift themselves out of poverty. They were sold a lemon of a car that is beyond repair and dangerous to drive.

When life gets hard, acts of kindness keep us moving forward. Inspired by Karen Lombardo and Mary Rice who live paying it forward and look at their friends as angels in the world. We hope to bring friends and angels to the families we serve, starting a ripple effect of love and generosity.

Meet our rockstar nurse, Shelby Goldsmith! Shelby finds joy in – yoga, long walks with her goldendoodle, getting lost in a book, walking on the beach, quality time with family + friends.

Shelby’s always had a passion for helping others. She finds purpose + meaning in delivering empathetic care, putting herself in someone’s shoes to better understand their life. Providing unwavering support is her favorite part about working with moms. A loving Auntie, Godmother, and dog mom to her goldendoodle Charlie, she understands the importance of a strong support system after giving birth. Shelby has worked in a variety of clinical settings – with the common thread of always helping people heal.

“The support from 4th Trimester Care has been fantastic. My mental health has been just so much more clear and I have been much more confident with my second baby. I have been able to feel the joy with the second baby. Just haven’t really worried about anything because I have a support system, like Kara contacting me daily at the very beginning, now it’s more like weekly but If I ever had any concerns, I could talk to Kara and explain what was going on. I was lucky to not have any medical concerns postpartum but If I did, I felt comfortable that I could go to her. I would say it is probably the best thing I've ever done, it's been such a great gift for my whole family. We have all been much more stable throughout this postpartum experience. With the mom being calmer and being more clear thinking - everybody else can adapt much smoother as well.
