Hello, I'm a registered pharmacist and started this page to give and inform the general public about the uses of medicines and how to prevent them to become resistant to the bacteria as well. So today I'm going to talk about what is antibiotics and what are the uses of it. Simply meaning of the antibiotic is a chemical substance produced synthetically to kill or stop micro bacteria and their organism on living cells. Antibiotics you should use properly, due to it can produce resistance to the bacteria and that antibiotics can be rejected. There are a lot of dosage forms and coating types in antibiotic manufactures’ using.. When considering the history the first antibiotic was penicillin, it was invented by Alexander Fleming in 1928. From that beginning, antibacterial species were invented by a lot of scientists. There are main common antibiotic groups that are often used on human bacterial infections. Let see what they are, this just a list I will go deeply on individual category on my next articles.
Aminoglycosides
Carbapenems
Cephalosporins
Fluoroquinolones
Glycopeptides and lipoglycopeptides (such as vancomycin)
Macrolides (such as erythromycin and azithromycin)
Monobactams (aztreonam)
Oxazolidinones (such as linezolid and tedizolid)
Penicillins
Polypeptides
Rifamycins
Sulfonamides
Streptogramins (such as quinupristin and dalfopristin)
Tetracyclines
I will explain all of these medicines and groups on this mrpharmaa page in the future. Now let's see what are the disadvantages of these antibiotics. The main problem is side effects. All of these antibiotics give side effects.
nausea.
indigestion.
vomiting.
diarrhea.
bloating.
feeling of fullness.
loss of appetite.
stomach cramping or pain.
Expensive.
Those are the most common side effects. The best advantage is it helps prevent diseases from spreading and makes comfortable for the patient.
