Emotion Code Practitioner

Emotion Code Practitioner I am an Emotion Code Practitioner and Body worker. Trapped emotions are energy blockages to the body. Emotional peace is key to our physical health.

This is my page to talk about my experiences through my work and all the beautiful life lessons learned along the way. When we don't process emotions they lodge somewhere in our body until we are ready to recognize them and release them. For severe traumas these emotions can be buried deep wanting never to be seen but even day to day events can cause tensions we would rather hide than feel fully. Emotion Code can help us tap into these blockages, give them a name, and a choice to let it go.

Brown has a new book and I am excited to get my hands on it!

This book kicked my ass.

Which is why I can’t wait to share it with you!

I learned so much about the language of human emotion and experience. And after searching for 20+ years, this research led me to the missing piece that I needed to develop a model on connection.

ā€œAtlas of the Heartā€ is a book about finding our way back to ourselves and one another.

When fear, anxiety, and uncertainty leave us feeling adrift and untethered in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore.

But the shore isn’t something outside of us — the solid ground we’re seeking is within us. It’s not always easy to find, but it’s there.

This book explores the language and tools we need to access a universe of new choices and second chances — a universe where we can share and steward the stories of our bravest and most heartbreaking moments with one another in a way that cultivates meaningful connection.

To all of the mapmakers and the travelers — this one is for you!

After a loooong break from events during Covid, I got to do another demo for Yoga Teacher Training. Feeling absolutely blessed to follow my calling and make some impressions in some very special lives today. Feels great to be in the flow!

Hey universe! My dear friend found out he had a brain tumor! So surprising! Out of all miracles he was connected to the best doctors, drove to NC to get brain surgery and cracked jokes to the doctors the whole time. His story is incredible and his heart is so pure. I'm sharing this GoFundMe to help with medical costs- so if anyone out in the universe feels inclined to help this incredible friend I would be so appreciative. Life is not always fair, but it always comes with secret blessings.

On February 20th our son Lucas Walker, who lives in Springfield, MO., … Dave Walker needs your support for Support Lucas’ brain tumor treatment and recovery

There are a lot of vulnerable feelings that happen when you find out someone is doing what you are trying to do. Natural emotions could be rejection, jealousy, anger, sadness, insecurity and I'm sure that in a flash I felt all of those emotions when I discovered Sherry. But after allowing my emotions to be expressed and tantrum themselves out, so to speak, I looked into the looking glass to see if maybe there was something beautiful here.

I am so glad I did! Fear can stop us so MANY times from taking risks, reaching out to others, or finding new opportunities. This absolutely would have been the case here if I had allowed my emotional brain to rule the roost. Luckily, with tools that allow us to slow down that limbic system, and respond vs react, I was able to reach out to Sherry and see her story and her beautiful personality that resonates with my own!

Just another reminder that we are stronger together, we are meant to lift each other up, and investing in each other's goals helps us achieve our own!

Just had an invigorating conversation with my kismet! Turns out Sherry and Merry both created a "What The Feels Podcast"! It's so nice to meet someone with my sense of humor and passion for spreading the feels across the world! You can look forward to some great collaborations in the future!

SO many life lessons in painting.
Lesson 1: don't pretend it's not a problem, it's not going away.
Lesson 2: don't be afraid to "mess it up!"

I've been struggling with the proportion of the legs for awhile, but it dawned on me last night the hoop was NOT the right shape and fixing it totally makes the legs make sense again!

There are "fixed items" in your life you are terrified to alter, so you try to build your reality around them. Doesn't work.

Until I was brave enough to "mess up" the one thing I thought was "done"- my reality was going to have to work really hard to bend around this mistake.

I challenge you to question: what is so fixed in your life that can't be changed?

Very powerful to be realistic with ourselves as we are!

Very powerful to be realistic with ourselves as we are!

A friend shared this and I really liked the lesson! *original poster (Kate Scott 2020)*:

RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.

When I was at one of my lowest (mental) points in life, I couldn’t get out of bed some days. I had no energy or motivation and was barely getting by.
I had therapy once per week, and on this particular week I didn’t have much to ā€˜bring’ to the session. He asked how my week was and I really had nothing to say.
ā€œWhat are you struggling with?ā€ he asked.
I gestured around me and said ā€œI dunno man. Life.ā€
Not satisfied with my answer, he said ā€œNo, what exactly are you worried about right now? What feels overwhelming? When you go home after this session, what issue will be staring at you?ā€
I knew the answer, but it was so ridiculous that I didn’t want to say it.
I wanted to have something more substantial.
Something more profound.
But I didn’t.
So I told him, ā€œHonestly? The dishes. It’s stupid, I know, but the more I look at them the more I CAN’T do them because I’ll have to scrub them before I put them in the dishwasher, because the dishwasher sucks, and I just can’t stand and scrub the dishes.ā€
I felt like an idiot even saying it.
What kind of grown ass woman is undone by a stack of dishes? There are people out there with *actual* problems, and I’m whining to my therapist about dishes?
But my therapist nodded in understanding and then said:

ā€œRUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.ā€

I began to tell him that you’re not supposed to, but he stopped me.
ā€œWhy the hell aren’t you supposed to? If you don’t want to scrub the dishes and your dishwasher sucks, run it twice. Run it three times, who cares?! Rules do not exist, so stop giving yourself rules.ā€
It blew my mind in a way that I don’t think I can properly express.
That day, I went home and tossed my smelly dishes haphazardly into the dishwasher and ran it three times.
I felt like I had conquered a dragon.
The next day, I took a shower lying down.
A few days later. I folded my laundry and put them wherever the f**k they fit.
There were no longer arbitrary rules I had to follow, and it gave me the freedom to make accomplishments again.
Now that I’m in a healthier place, I rinse off my dishes and put them in the dishwasher properly. I shower standing up. I sort my laundry.

But at a time when living was a struggle instead of a blessing, I learned an incredibly important lesson:

THERE ARE NO RULES.
RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE!!!

Being out of your comfort zone takes practice!

I did my first big scary thing since March being snuggly stuck at home. I want to reflect on how much we use self sooth techniques all the time without realizing it! But when we haven't done those scary things in awhile our techniques get rusty and we might panic! Think of all those big things you have accomplished in the past, you have it in you!

When I think of the process of overcoming it makes the present situation less scary, because I know it will pass just like it has time and time again. What's left is a stronger you with a fresher memory of what you are capable of!

Go achieve!
