Established in 1880, Home of the Innocents enriches the lives of children and families with hope, health, and happiness. Programs include residential and community-based behavioral health services, therapeutic foster care and adoption services, supportive services for young adults experiencing homelessness, and long-term care for children with complex medical needs.

We recently celebrated a milestone — the topping-off of our new Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC) expansion!

This $75 million project will include 50 ventilator-equipped units, allowing our current residents to age in place and opening up beds for new youth in need.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and the community, we’ve already raised millions toward this vision, but we’re still working to close the gap. Every gift moves us closer to opening these doors.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us for this special moment and to every donor who’s helped get us this far.

As construction moves forward, we’re also building our team. We’ll need hundreds of new team members to bring this expansion to life. If you work in nursing or respiratory therapy & want make a difference in kids’ lives, this is the place for you!

The Coulter-Risinger Family first became foster parents to support a relative facing mental health challenges. Since then, they've continued to open their hearts, adopting two children and continuing to foster others.

The Delaney's are already parents to six biological children, but have opened their hearts and home to 12 adopted children as well!

The Mitchell family has been fostering for over nine years. Adoption wasn't the original plan - but here they are!

What’s this huge structure in our backyard? 🤔

Our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC) expansion is making a lot of progress! Messer Construction Co. now has the steel structure for the building up.

This expansion will add 50 ventilator-capable beds for medically complex youth & young adults.

Join us in celebrating our team member! 🎉

LaDaya, the Home’s HR Business Partner, is currently featured in Muhammad Ali Center's Shining A Light: Iconic Women photography exhibit.

This exhibit features women from around the globe as well as our local community.

LaDaya is being featured for her extensive work in the community in fields such as economic development, local arts, and personal mentorship, as well as her important work at the Home.

She's recently received a number of additional recognitions in the community, such as being inducted into the Kentucky Colonels & being a 2025 Young Professional of the Year finalist.

Check out the exhibit! It’s free with regular admission to the Muhammad Ali Center and runs until January 26th, 2026.
