BLUF: Half day of learning saps & jacks stuff, half day of learning blunt-force trauma stuff.

I’m teaming up with Guy from DFW Defensive Training again for a very exclusive one-day class… “Bumps & Bruises!”
•
Guy (ninja and former anti-sky-pirate-pirate) will teach you
Saps vs blackjacks; pros vs cons
- Strike zones and targeting
- Carry methods
- Ready positions
- Strikes
- Default Cover (defensive use)
- Long Cover (offensive use)
- Field expedient and improvised impact devices

After that I’ll be teaching you

- Patient assessment techniques for blunt-force trauma
- Treatment techniques related to
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
thoracic trauma (flailed chest injuries)
closed fractures
blunt abdominal trauma
- Medical gear selection and EDC methods of carry

Just got back from teaching the entire staff at Champion Ranch.
•
These professionals are experts at hospitality, hunting, and ensuring guests are continually impressed during their stay.
•
Photos do not do this place justice; so I won’t even bore you with a bunch of pics.
They should hire a poet to illustrate the level of “awe” that is experienced here.
•
Watching the zebras mingle with the longhorns in one field while a magnificent lechwe snorted at us just after sunset made the evening even more special.
•
Big thanks to my lovely Assistant Instructor 😘 for making class such a success.
•
Highly recommend visiting Champion Ranch.

DSC’s Summer Expo was nothing incredible!
•
Humbled to be a guest presenter and had a solid turn out. I shared a few key points on developing medical contingencies, medical training/skills needed for all hunters, and medical gear selection.
•
Even cooler than presenting was seeing all my friends from across the globe who I don’t see enough of.
•
But wait, even way more cooler than that was listening to Michael share all the amazing work Driftwood Valley Outfitters and their apprenticeship program are doing.
I’ve attended many DSC Saturday night formal dinners and listened to many stories. Michael and those kids received a overwhelming standing ovation unlike anything I’ve seen before. And well deserved.

(And of course FB isn’t letting me tag a single business associated with conservation or hunting. Hence why y’all should join me over on “X.”)
