✨Big Glutes ≠ Strong Glutes✨
If building your glutes is part of your gym goals… then this is for you 👇
Let’s talk about something most moms never get told:
➡️ Just because your glutes look strong, doesn’t mean they’re actually doing their job.
➡️ Just because you’re squatting, hip thrusting, and deadlifting doesn’t mean your glutes are firing the way they should.
➡️ And just because you have glutes, doesn’t mean they’re helping you move well.
We see this all the time in our clinic:
🏃♀️ Runners with knee pain
🏋️♀️ Lifters with low back tightness
🪑 Desk workers with hip pinching or “sciatica”
..who all look strong, but have underperforming glutes. Let's talk about it:
✅ SHAPE ≠ STRENGTH
You can have glutes that look muscular — but still lack the neuromuscular control to activate and stabilize your pelvis during movement.
Size (aka hypertrophy) doesn’t guarantee strength, balance, or function.
Think of it like this:
💪 A car can look fast, but still have engine problems.
Your glutes can look good, but still leave your hips and spine vulnerable.
✅YOUR GLUTES NEED ACTIVATION
If your brain can’t find your glutes in movement, other muscles will compensate.
The result? Quad dominance. Hamstring cramping. Hip flexor tightness. Back pain.
Glute activation is what turns your glutes on during running, squatting, lunging, etc.
And if it’s not happening — your body pays the price over time.
✅YOUR GLUTES NEED ENDURANCE
Even if your glutes fire at first… do they stay online?
We test this constantly at ACE:
➡️ Can your glutes stay active for a 30-second single leg bridge?
➡️ Do they fatigue halfway through a workout — or hold steady?
Glute endurance helps protect your knees, hips, and back during repetitive activity (like running or lifting). Without it, breakdown begins.
✅YOUR GLUTES NEED CONTROL
Strength isn’t just raw power — it’s also precision.
If your glutes can’t control motion, especially under load or on one leg, your body will compensate from somewhere else.
Signs of poor control:
🚫 Knee caving in
🚫 Hips shifting
🚫 Trunk wobbling during single leg work
At ACE, we retrain glutes to fire with timing, control, and coordination — not just brute force.
DON’T ASSUME — TEST IT
You can’t feel what muscles are firing just by guessing.
And aesthetics aren’t function.
We test every patient to see what’s working, what’s not, and where strength needs to be rebuilt.
That’s why we do Total Body Screens — to spot these hidden weaknesses before they become chronic injuries.
✅ If you’ve got hip pain, back tightness, or just want your glutes to actually do their job — book a $75 Total Body Screen this week.
We’ll test your glutes, dial in a gameplan, and get you moving with strength that matches your muscle. 💪
