Kuthethur et al. demonstrated that depletion of the AAA+ ATPase FIGNL1 in BRCA2-deficient cells restored RAD51 loading and rescued HR defects. This suggests that recombination failure in BRCA2-deficient cells is primarily due to excessive removal of RAD51 by FIGNL1 rather than to defective RAD51 loading per se. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adt1210

Landers et al. designed a microrobotic system that combines electromagnetic navigation, a release catheter, and dissolvable drug-loaded capsules. They demonstrated precise navigation in human vasculature models and tracking and navigation in large animal models. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adx1708

DNA breakage leaves long-term marks in postrepair genomic loci, which disrupts 3D arrangement of large chromatin neighborhoods, persists through several rounds of successive cell divisions, and primes for heritable alterations in gene expression even if the primary DNA lesions are fully repaired. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adk6662
