September is National Su***de Prevention Month, a time for us to think about ways we can help prevent su***de. In the United States, su***de is the tenth leading cause of death for all Americans. Su***de was responsible for more than 48,000 deaths in 2018, with a 35% increase in rates from 1999-2018. However, we know su***de is preventable and CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) has made su***de prevention a priority.
