Hello Members:
If your not familiar with why this page was started here is an update from Jen who’s looking for a living kidney donor.
Jennifer is a type 1 diabetic for 29 years of her life. She has had some minor complications from it for a while, but all manageable. In 2020 that all changed. After 4 months of progressive symptoms, she was admitted to the hospital with severe fluid retention which included 100% of one lung and 80% of the other, edema in her legs, feet, and abdomen, and also around her heart. The ending diagnosis was that she was in stage 3 CKD or chronic kidney disease. This was brought about by her long fight with diabetes. Since her diagnosis, it has progressed quickly from stage 3 through stage 4, and she is now into stage 5, and she was placed on the kidney donor list in January 2022.
In October of 2022 she was Hospitalized and quickly had a Hemodialysis port placed in her chest to start Dialysis. She was going to a clinic 3 days a week for 3.5 hours, but recently just switched over to the Peritoneal Dialysis. Which she does from home while sleeping, but not looking to do this for the rest of her life and is currently looking for a live donor so she can live a better, more healthier life. If you are interested in donating please contact Massachusetts General ://www.massgeneral.org/transplant/about/living-donor-program to start the process. Please If you can’t donate please send prayers to Jen in hopes we are able to find her a donor 💚❤️
