Here is a HS volleyball player rehabilitating an ankle sprain. Our initial goals are to decongest the tissue, decrease pain, restore motion, and then progress strength and balance. We know that load is essential to healing, but we also have to respect the injury. The right load at the right time is what is important. If you are an injured athlete (or know one), please reach out to me, I am here to help. Dr Brian Hatlelid, PT. 602-502-6762 .vb_2028

I believe in helping people of all ages become better athletes. Training footwork, getting up off the ground and agility forces the brain and body into uncomfortable or novel situations. This matures the nervous system and therefore makes the athlete more resilient over time - and hopefully less injury prone. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I have more to offer than just injury and surgical recovery. The goal should be health, wellness, FUN, and avoiding meeting me in the clinic! If you are interested or have questions, please let me know! Dr Brian Hatlelid, PT 602-502-6762

working through ACL progressions to return to volleyball. We are working on strength and plyometric progressions today. We started with physically and mentally comfortable hopping, and progressed to more challenging patterns. This is essential for safe and effective return to sport. We must challenge our athletes while respecting where they are in the rehab process. Please reach out to me with any questions. Make sure you choose a rehab professional that understands your sport and the importance of return to sport testing. Dr Brian Hatlelid, PT 602-502-6762

I am honored to be surrounded by great people, and this man is one of the best. If you are involved in triathlons, open water swimming, cycling or running, then you probably already know Leo. If not, find him and you will be impressed. He cares about his athletes and his friends. He has a great heart and an impressive swimming mind. I just had an espresso with him and he shared he has great ideas coming soon to our community. Follow him and stay tuned for more. Leo - Thank you for the invite to be part of something great. I’m looking forward to it. Swim on, Stay Anchored.

As a physical therapist, I am lucky to have the privilege of helping my patients achieve their goals. I commit to listening to my patient, in a one on one environment. I will perform a full biomechanical evaluation and together we will determine the best course of treatment. Often this will include: dry needling, manual hands on therapy, and a tailored exercise routine. Please reach out to me directly, I am here to help. Dr. Brian Hatlelid, PT, DPT 602-502-6762

Something to think about: Pain is your body's request for change. It does not always mean you are "broken", but it does mean that your body recognizes a stress that is challenging its capacity to deal with it in a healthy way. This can be as simple as biomechanically overloaded tissue from too much running/swimming/throwing or it can be a more serious stimulus such as a disc issue in your spine. Either way, if you feel pain; do not ignore it. Find a health care provider who you trust to help guide you in making a good decision. The earlier in the pain cycle that we "provide the requested change", the quicker we can return to our healthy and productive lives. If you have questions, please reach out. I am here to help.
