Congratulations to Joy Doll, OTD, OTR/L, who recently co-authored an article in the Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy titled, “Building Seamless Care Transitions: Connecting Physical Therapy to Community Resources for Older Adults with Arthritis.”

The piece introduces a technology-enabled model that streamlines referrals, strengthens provider–community communication, and tracks patient outcomes beyond the clinic.

Doll brings the same innovation to her Introduction to Health Data & Informatics course with Creighton Lifelong Learning—helping healthcare professionals master the tools to turn data into better care.

💙 Two weeks ago, our first-year PT Omaha, OT Omaha, Pharmacy Omaha and Pharmacy Distance students spent the day serving with Heartland Hope Mission.

In the morning, they learned how food and housing insecurity impact health. In the afternoon, they rolled up their sleeves to help, organizing donations for food and clothing banks and joining cleanup and outreach efforts in nearby neighborhoods.

A big thank-you to our students for living out Creighton’s mission of service and compassion! 💪✨

This summer, pharmacy students traveled to the Dominican Republic through Creighton’s Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC) program. Co-director of pharmacy at ILAC, Jane Stein, PharmD, joined them on their journey. 🌍💙

Working alongside local partners, they provided care, medications and health education to communities with limited access to healthcare. The students gained invaluable insight into global health, learning that compassionate care goes beyond prescriptions. It’s about connection and walking alongside others. ✨
