Butterflies. All day, every day. Support your local pollinators! Plant and nurture native plants- Bay Oaks has over a dozen butterfly friendly (feeding and nesting) plants across our nearly two acres of grounds. Residents find our butterfly gardens to be a source of joy, inspiration, and hope. We support local nonprofit gardens with cuttings of these plants because we want our support for local pollinators to spread out across South Florida. Bay Oaks Historic Retirement Residence was honored by the Florida Assisted Living Association this week for our Deficiency Free Biennial Survey 2024.

Achieving a deficiency-free survey in the State of Florida is an incredibly rare feat. The inspection process is rigorous, demanding that assisted living communities meet or exceed all state and federal standards. To receive a zero-deficiency rating is historically uncommon, especially considering the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years, and the average number of deficiencies cited in these surveys is seven!

The survey (inspection) conducted by AHCA (the Agency for Health Care Administration) evaluates various critical aspects, including the quality of care and life for our residents, adherence to safety protocols, staff competencies, physical plant conditions, and the overall wellness and safety of our community.

Our deficiency-free survey reflects our dedication to surpassing these regulations and providing the very best in care.

We are grateful to FALA for recognizing Administrator Kathryn Moore and Head CNA Sharon Lucas in Orlando and presenting them with this certificate.
