To our incredible NICU families—this celebration is for you. ❤️

We’re excited to welcome you back for our NICU Family Reunion this September! It’s time to reconnect, celebrate, and honor the incredible journeys of our NICU grads.

One of those grads is baby Keenan—born three weeks early with multiple heart defects. He spent 37 days in the NICU, bravely facing heart failure, a feeding tube, and major surgery before he was even one month old. Thanks to his dedicated care team and a whole lot of love from his parents, Keenan pulled through—and today Keenan is a thriving, happy baby with an infectious laugh and an eagerness to explore the world. His charismatic smile and outgoing personality bring joy to everyone he meets.

That’s a wrap on another amazing year at the Good in the Hood Multicultural Festival! 🥳

We proudly walked in the parade and stood alongside our community in celebration, culture, and connection.

At the festival, our Trauma Nurses Talk Tough team showed up in a big way — giving away 100 free bike helmets, offering discounted helmets, and donating bikes, scooters, skateboards, and helmets for raffle prizes. 🛴🚲

Our health and resources booth also allowed guests to learn more about Legacy Health and the programs and services we offer to support our community every day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, joined the parade, or helped make this weekend special. We’re honored to keep showing up for the community that continues to show up for each other. 💜💙💛

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully reached a fair and equitable agreement with Cigna, ensuring that all Cigna commercial members will remain in-network for Legacy services. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated providers and staff for their advocacy and to our courageous patients and community members who have shared their stories and voiced their concerns. We are pleased that we will be able to continue to provide quality care to our patients with Cigna coverage. With only days remaining before our current agreement ends, it’s increasingly likely that most Legacy Health hospitals and providers will be out-of-network for Cigna commercial members starting July 1 (excluding Silverton).

We’ve spent the past year negotiating for fair, equitable reimbursement rates that reflect the rising costs of care. Despite our efforts, we are not where we need to be to reach a new agreement.

Dr. Cory Donovan, a surgical oncologist at Legacy Health, sees the emotional toll cancer takes on her patients every day. Now, many of them—midway through treatment—are facing the added stress of possibly losing access to the providers they trust.

She’s concerned not just about delayed surgeries or disrupted care plans but the weight patients are being asked to carry in the middle of their most vulnerable moments.

Dr. Nick Kashey highlights the challenges patients could face if Legacy Health’s contract with Cigna ends—especially in rural communities with limited access to care.

Many could experience extended delays or be forced to find new providers. And for those who choose to stay with their current doctor, the out-of-network costs could be overwhelming.

This is what 1️⃣,5️⃣7️⃣1️⃣ blankets looks like!!!🎉🎉

We set out to collect 1,400 blankets for Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel— and thanks to this incredible community, Lindsay Taylor delivered 1,571!

So many blankets were donated, she had to rent a U-Haul to get them all there! Nurses and patients were in awe, and the joy on their faces was unforgettable.

We were happy to host blanket donation bins.
Together we all made a difference. You put smiles on so many tiny faces. Thank you all for your support.

They made their way through nearly every department and clinic, delivering lunch, sharing snacks, and offering heartfelt thanks to the physicians who make a difference every day. ❤️

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and we’ve kicked it off with our annual pinwheel planting in the Children’s Garden at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. 💙

Each year, CARES Northwest and Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel plant blue pinwheels to symbolize the importance of safe, healthy childhoods—and to remind our community that preventing child abuse is a shared responsibility.

Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center staff are also showing their commitment this year by hanging blue pinwheels on the hospital’s sky bridge, creating a powerful visual reminder for everyone who walks through.

You can join us in raising awareness by participating in Wear Blue Day:
🔹 Friday, April 4 – CARES Northwest and many of our Oregon community partners will wear blue.
🔹 Thursday, April 10 – The Child Abuse Assessment Team (CAAT) and Legacy Salmon Creek community in SW Washington will wear blue in solidarity.
