We are heartbroken for the person that lost their life and for the countless others who have suffered and died in this heat. These are very preventable deaths with good policies in place. There is a proposal making its way back and forth between the House and the Senate in Congress that will affect everyone’s life, liberty, and health.

It is almost 1,000 pages of policy changes that will affect millions.

Within those proposals are changes that will take away health access from all of us.

Reduced & Eliminated
services & protections for those of us just trying to get by.

Even if you have private health insurance,
less people receiving medicaid coverage means less funding supporting hospitals and clinics. Many healthcare workers and support staff will lose their jobs & you’ll have less people to help you and your family.

When one family in our communities suffers, we all do.

It may pass in the next few days....but you can STILL make your voice heard by contacting your representatives and getting your voice counted.

Recent data has shown that 80% of maternal deaths were preventable (https://www.cdc.gov/maternal-mortality/php/data-research/index.html), we can't and don't want to imagine what cuts to medicaid would do. Please keep your eyes on these proposed cuts.
