Wrapping up our series on why the ADA recommends visiting an orthodontist at age 7 - sometimes there are a few things that must be dealt with early because we cannot fix it later (even just a few years later!). These (rare) treatments don't last long and are singularly focused. 🌈

Did you know sometimes we can help permanent teeth erupt in a better position without braces when we see kids early enough? This could be done by encouraging the wiggling out of certain teeth asap, maintaining space for permanent teeth, or making sure teeth are coming into the right "parking spot". 🌈

Did you know we work with dentists and recommend speech therapists when we see a habit that will later impact adult teeth? We can fix a lot of things with braces and appliances but our favorite treatment is prevention! 🌈

Did you know the American Dental Association recommends you start visiting an orthodontist at age 7? There's a lot of great reasons why and this week we'll talk about one each day, but the best part is that early treatment is rarely needed, it's free, you don't need a referral from your dentist and it helps your child in the long run. . 🌈
