Giveback Spotlight: Fancy Feet Dance Studio in Pacific Palisades was destroyed in the fires earlier this year. Owned by the daughter of one of our residents at Belmont Village Encino, our residents and staff rallied in support, hosting a fundraiser to help rebuild the family-owned studio raising funds towards the studio's GoFundMe page, which has raised more than $57,000. 💃 The studio has established a new location and are slowly rebuilding the space while continuing to offer classes.

On March 18, 19, and 20, our Memory Care and Programming Department came together in Los Angeles for our annual Leadership Symposium—an important moment in our ongoing journey of learning and growth. 🌟 Led by our corporate experts and joined by Belmont Village President, Mercedes Kerr, and the Senior Leadership team, the event brought valuable insights, connection and collaboration. 🤝🏆

During the gathering, we proudly honored team members nominated and voted on by their peers for showing kindness, generosity and constant support throughout the year. 💖👏 These awards celebrate those who truly live out Belmont Village’s values of compassion and community. 🏡

As we look to the future, Belmont Village remains committed to leading the way in senior living by staying ahead of the changing needs in aging services.

Our Redefining Excellence in Aging Services workshop provided our Activity and Memory Program Directors with practical tools, new strategies, and science-backed insights to better serve today’s residents—and prepare for the next generation to come. 💡

Join us for an educational webinar that could save you and your loved ones time, money, and stress. We’ll learn how to recognize and avoid common scams that are targeted at seniors and their families. These scams have become more convincing and sophisticated than ever. We’ll review phishing scams that attempt to steal your personal information, fake tech support scams, and grandparent scams— callers posting as a grandchild. Illinois residents will also learn how to file a complaint regarding scams with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

Speaker: Sonya Tompkins, Liaison, Illinois Attorney General’s Office

Sonya works to foster communication and collaboration between the government and the community. Previously, she held a leadership role with the Cook County Treasurer’s office, spearheading initiatives such as Black Houses Matter. With a background as a longtime former talk radio producer with WVON 1690AM, Sonya brings a wealth of experience in media, communications, and community engagement to her current role.
