I am in need of a home for this bonded pair. Unfortunately due to life circumstances I cannot continue to have so many cats. This is a very difficult decision please refrain from unpleasant comments. I have health issues & I cannot continue life as it is. It’s not something I want to do.

They are both very sweet. I’d really like to find them a home together. As you can see in the pictures they’re very close and sleep cuddled together every day. They do have some special needs, which is how they ended up staying here for so long.

Minnie is the orange tabby. She was surrendered to me about 7 years ago after her owner couldn’t keep her. She was up for adoption for a long time and just over looked I guess. She’s estimated to be turning 9 this year. She is very sweet and sleeps with me every night. She is a typical silly orange cat-a bit of a space cadet. Very loving, can pick her up and give her hugs, etc. She occasionally has seizures. They happen sporadically & seems to mostly be at night. There’s no medication or requirements, I can explain what the vet has said about it. I do give her some immune system supplements sometimes as she will have allergy-like symptoms.

Rosie, the brown & white tabby, was trapped as a very young kitten from a barn with her brother in June 2020. So she is turning 5 this year. She’s also very sweet, loving and playful. She was super shy or would run & hide whenever anyone came to meet her. So she ended up not being adopted and stayed. She’s still shy with new people but she is much more social now. She does require gabapentin to go to the vet, as a change like that will make her regress to being very scared. As long as she gets that she has no problems with the vet. She’s on Hill’s prescription c/d stress urinary care food. Last year she had idiopathic cystitis (bladder inflammation) so she needs to be on this food to prevent further issues. She’s the most playful cat in the house, loves her toys and carries them around. Given her history & personality she will require more time to warm up to a new home.

They live with other cats, a bunny, dogs and a pig. Have also lived with children. Minnie has been good with all cats, she is at risk for being bullied though if another cat is pushy. Rosie is a cat’s cat for the most part. She still plays with another one of the cats. But sometimes she chases one of the cats in the house (only her I don’t know why-that cat was feral and is very shy) otherwise she’s been buddies with even the foster cats over the years.

Both cats are spayed and will be up to date on shots. There is an adoption application & requirements. Absolutely Indoor only. No fee. Please contact for questions or more information.

Thank you to everyone who donated for the giving Tuesday fundraiser & who have sent in donations🙏 . Bender’s barn did have to downsize this year & stop intakes; but there are still 3 pigs, 2 goats, 8 cats, 2 dogs, 5 chickens, a pea hen and a bunny here between the house & barn. Several get supplements, 3 animals are on prescription medications and 4 cats are on prescription food.

Everyone ended up here from unfortunate circumstances. Most of the cats
were not adoptable and some were overlooked for various reasons (behavior, shy, medical needs, etc).

Your support will also help at the most expensive time of the year. In winter the hay consumption goes up without grazing options, straw is in use for bedding warmth, and the cost of veggies for the pigs is higher.

Gert doesn’t have to worry about any of these things but she also thanks you for helping out 😉 🐽.

This super sweet boy was taken in by NEBCR recently. *Very* grateful for them, as I was worried when I got a call about a working dog needing to be surrendered after being injured by a horse. Roy ended up needing a pricey surgery. Sharing the fundraiser in hopes of helping get them some more funds!

My thanks to all that have contributed so far to Roys surgery! Today's the day, here is a photo of Roy waiting patiently at the Orthopedic surgeons. Please keep this sweet boy in your thoughts today. If you haven't given and would like to help here is his story and a donation link https://nebcr.org/roy-fundraiser/
