Our number ONE emergency: a loose front baby tooth that won’t come out. Sometimes it’s because another one has come in behind it and the roots haven’t resorbed enough to get very loose.
Another one is an early loose tooth. My 4 year old just lost his first two teeth. Was he supposed to lose them at 4? NO! It should be around 6!
Was it OK? Yes!
Did even I freak out a little? Yes!

I realized I needed to ask his dentist and wanted an X-ray just to make sure, because his siblings weren’t early with theirs. And then I realized I was his dentist!

Just so you know, he was fine and just on time for his OWN body!

The most important thing you should do when you brush is use fluoride toothpaste to prevent cavities, strengthen teeth, and reduce sensitivity. So why would we want to swish and rinse it off completely??

Next time, if you really need feel the need to rinse do these steps:
1. Brush without toothpaste.
2. Floss then swish and rinse thoroughly
3. Brush with toothpaste. Then just spit! No rinsing after that!

This will allow the fluoride to actually do it’s job while it sits against your enamel! It forms a coating to protect your teeth against acid demineralization!
