Because SNAP-Ed is evidence-based, we don’t just hope our programs make an impact in NH... we measure it! And our results for the 2,500+ granite staters in our program last year speak for themselves. 👇

🏃 For Kids:
✔ 86% of K-2 students became more willing to try new foods.
✔ 30% more 3rd-5th graders reached 60 minutes of daily activity.

🥤 For Teens:
✔ 44% drop in frequent soda consumption.
✔ 76% increase in choosing to prepare meals at home instead of buying pre-made.

🛒 For Adults (18-59):
✔ 75% more adults are using Nutrition Facts labels to make healthy choices.
✔ 21% decrease in sugar-sweetened beverage intake.

🥕 For Seniors (60+):
✔ 43% more adults 75+ eat more than one kind of vegetable daily.
✔ 51% more adults over 60 use USDA MyPlate to guide their food choices.

SNAP-Ed creates measurable, meaningful change by helping people build skills, stretch food dollars, and create healthier habits for life. The U.S. Senate is currently considering a bill that would remove all funding for this program nationwide.

Two amazing SNAP-Ed educators in the community! So great to see current Nutrition Connections teacher Kate B. and beloved retired teacher Brenda C. (aka Mrs. Healthy!) from UNH Cooperative Extension - Belknap County continuing to inspire healthy habits.

SNAP-Ed is one of the smartest investments we can make for public health.

💸It costs just $5.15 per person per year, but delivers lifelong impacts. In New Hampshire, teens in SNAP-Ed classes cut their soda consumption by 44%! Quite a powerful shift during a key time for forming lifelong habits.

🏥 For every $1 invested, up to $9.54 is saved in future healthcare costs. SNAP-Ed isn’t just education. It builds health-promoting communities that help families lead healthy lives and make the most of their resources.

Let’s stick with what works. A healthier New Hampshire starts with smart, community-based solutions like SNAP-Ed. When we invest in prevention, we invest in people, families, and the future of the Granite State.

👋 You usually hear from us about recipes, smart shopping tips, and cooking ideas—but today, we’re kicking off something special.

We’re incredibly proud of the work we do across New Hampshire through SNAP-Ed, and this month, we’re lifting the curtain to show you the impact.

Nutrition Connections is the home of SNAP-Ed in New Hampshire. We work with people of all ages, in all 10 counties, to eat healthy, move more, and stretch their food budgets. Beyond that, we work with community partners to build healthy environments that make these healthy choices possible.

We report these outcomes to our funders at the U.S. Department of Agriculture-FNS each year, and every time, we’re amazed by the changes we’ve been a part of. Now we’re excited to share some of those with YOU!

📅 All this month, we’ll be highlighting how for New Hampshire—in classrooms, food pantries, gardens, grocery stores, and beyond.
