We’ve been told to wipe better, p*e after s*x, and drink more cranberry juice. And while hygiene and habits matter, there’s one big factor that often gets overlooked—low estrogen.

After the age of 30, the body starts breaking down old bone faster than it replaces it with new bone, leading to a slow but steady decline in bone density.

For women, the shift can be even more dramatic, losing up to 10% of bone mass in the first five years after menopause.

A few weeks ago, my sister wiped out on her son’s electric scooter.
She caught herself with her wrist, which usually results in a broken bone at any age.

But she bounced right up with no issues other than the embarrassment of crashing right in front of several passing cars.

In shock, she continued on the scooter for the rest of the way home.

She works out, eats well, and has been on hormones for nearly a decade.

Normal lab results don’t necessarily mean optimal health. 

Most standard thyroid panels only check TSH.
That’s like checking the weather with just wind sp*ed.

What you really need:
✔ TSH
✔ Free T3
✔ Free T4
✔ Reverse T3
✔ Thyroid antibodies

“Normal” TSH might mean nothing if your Free T3 (your active thyroid hormone) is tanked.

Low Free T3 = low energy, low mood, low motivation, low everything.

You don’t want to be “normal”

Myth: Women only produce estrogen and progesterone, and men only produce testosterone.

The truth? Both men and women produce all three hormones—estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—just in different amounts.

Here’s the kicker: testosterone is the most abundantly produced hormone in women, often 3–4x higher than estrogen.��It’s just that testosterone isn’t the dominant hormone in their reproductive cycle.

Here’s why this matters �
When providers assume hormones are gender specific, symptoms get dismissed.
