Please help if you can – and share!

Hi friends, I’m raising money for my daughter’s 23-year-old roommate, Noah, a disabled trans man who’s going through an incredibly hard time.

Noah used to work 50+ hours a week helping others in crisis as a Peer Support Specialist. Then his health started to fail—seizures, dizziness, and other serious medical issues forced him out of work. He lost his job, exhausted his disability benefits and financial aid, and now has no income aside from EBT for food.

He’s been fighting to get on SSI, but the process is long and slow. His roommates (including my daughter) have been covering his share of rent, but it’s not sustainable—and they’re at risk of losing their housing.

Noah has no family support. He’s doing everything he can to survive, but he really needs community now.

Please donate if you can. Any amount truly helps. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post would mean the world.

Thank you so much.

There comes a moment in life when you realize your true value and the potential you hold. This moment is a Portal, a turning point. When you acknowledge your worth and refuse to settle for anything less than you deserve, you’ll notice that opportunities you never imagined possible begin to appear.

The universe seems to respond to your inner transformation. Doors that were once closed start to open, and pathways that had been hidden reveal themselves. It’s as if the world has been waiting for you to see your own potential, ready to support you every step of the way.

This journey of self-discovery and empowerment is one that you can embark on. When you start to believe in your worth and trust in your abilities, you’ll find that the universe conspires to help you achieve your dreams. Embrace your value, and watch as life unfolds in ways you never thought possible.

As you change within....

How is your yoga practice? Would you like to start one? Let's practice together. Watch this page for new offerings. Coming soon.

As within so without..

This mantra holds the key to a profound shift in your life’s landscape. By focusing on inner change, you set in motion a ripple effect that transforms your external reality.

Start by reflecting on your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Through practices like meditation and journaling, create space to explore your inner world and identify areas for growth.

As you evolve internally, watch as your outer world begins to mirror this transformation. Opportunities arise, relationships deepen, and challenges become manageable. Your energy attracts circumstances aligned with your newfound sense of purpose.

Embrace the power of inner change. Commit to small, consistent shifts, knowing each step brings you closer to your dreams. Remember, as you change within, so too does the world around you. 🌺

“Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal yourself with mint, neem, and eucalyptus. Sweeten with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile. Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a hint of cinnamon. Put love in tea instead of sugar and drink it looking at the stars. Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Stand strong with your bare feet on the ground and with everything that comes from it. Be smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with your forehead. Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember ... you are the medicine.””

Hi friends,
How's your time change treating you? If you're feeling a little crunchy, and you're ready to change that, consider treating yourself to a bodywork session or a yoga class.

How can massage help?

Increase your energy!
Winter can make even the most energetic people feel lethargic. But after a massage, you’ll feel that energy and be ready to take on anything. You’ll enjoy better circulation and more oxygen going through your body which makes the mind feel energized too.

Improve your mood;
Get back to your usual self after the SAD from winter. With massage, it increases dopamine and serotonin which both stabilize mood. You’ll feel cheerier and optimistic after each session!

Relieve pain and stiffness:
The colder weather definitely leaves many people with pain and stiffness. You can move more fluidly and enjoy a more active lifestyle when you schedule a massage. This boosts circulations and flexibility to help you move the way you want to

Get Moving:
Just like nature, we too should feel the energy of Spring season and get moving! .Walking, yoga, daily stretches are all excellent ways to support your body this spring.

Come see me for a springtime massage or yoga class, and increase your energy level, improve your mood, and relieve pain and stiffness. I look forward to seeing you!

Hey friends. I have Market Research questions, about retreats. I'm taking a whirlwind class right now on retreat planning. I want to host several retreats in the next year. You may have already seen the rough draft of my Mexico retreat, but I also want to do a couple weekend retreats close to home, and a couple of day retreats. These nearby retreats will combine yoga, hiking, waterfalls, and natural beauty. They will be small (max 10-12 people). They will be about 90 minutes from Sacramento.

So here's my questions:
Are you someone who enjoys going to retreats? What do you need out of a retreat?
For a weekend hiking retreat, would you consider a camping retreat? If so, what items/food/extras do you need to make camping feel luxurious?
For a weekend retreat, 3 days/2 nights or 4 days/3 nights?

I'm curious about what people who go to retreats want out of their retreat. And if you have never been on a retreat, but are interested, what kind of retreat would you like? What experiences or expected results would get you to say "whoa that sounds great, sign me up!"

Photo of me on personal retreat for tax. Might have looked like a vacation from afar, but it was kind of a retreat, and I would like to take you there.

Class finishes with Yoga Nidra, a deeply nourishing and immensely powerful meditation technique.

"What is restorative yoga?

Gentle, supportive, and therapeutic are just a few words that describe restorative yoga. At its core, restorative yoga is a practice of passive healing.

This yoga style is known for its ability to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the “rest and digest” part of your nervous system that helps keep basic functions working as they should.

As the name suggests, this style of yoga “restores” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system function, which, in turn, helps the body rest, heal, and restore balance.

By allowing time for longer asanas (postures or poses) and deeper breathing, restorative yoga helps elicit the relaxation responseTrusted Source. This response can help slow breathing, reduce blood pressure, and produce a feeling of calm and increased well-being.

A key feature in restorative yoga is the use of props such as blocks, bolsters, or blankets. The props help you hold passive poses for longer without exerting or tiring out your muscles. It also allows you to feel comfortable and supported, regardless of your experience with yoga.

And, since you’re encouraged to relax fully in the pose while focusing on your breath, restorative yoga allows you to release tension in your muscles for longer periods without discomfort." - https://www.healthline.com/health/restorative-yoga-poses

Do you need a massage?

I've had a few cancellations this week, and I'm working New Years Eve. I'm also offering Functional Yoga Therapy now, let me know if you would like to schedule a free consultation to see how Functional Yoga Therapy can help you.

What is Functional Yoga Therapy?
"FYT merges ancient yoga techniques and modern wisdom to identify imbalances and create a unique path to healing and wellness. This approach sees the human being as an integrated body-mind-spirit system that is at its best when all three parts are in a state of dynamic balance. The goal of FYT is to guide each person to her or his own deeper awareness, greater understanding, and movement on a continuum of healing." -

Hi friends, clients, and students! Happy Holidays to you and yours 💓🥳

It's time for my favorite part of the holidays, the toy drive and distribution at Loaves and Fishes for kids experiencing homelessness attending Mustard Seed School and for other groups around Sacramento. Every year for many years I (along with a bunch of other Awesome Elves) help my friend Santa Christy in her warehouse, doing our best to bring some happiness and holiday spirit to the kids. I'll be spending several days helping out, starting December 14th, and I would love it if all of you would consider adding a gift or two from this list to your holiday shopping. You can drop it off at my office during your next appointment.

*Gifts must be new, in packaging, and unwrapped*

There is also an Amazon wishlist, if you prefer to shop from home https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/23T1E30XPF082?ref_=wl_share

Please help me help the kids. Happy Holidays!

Jennifer Cox, Certified Massage Therapist + Health Educator + Advanced MyoSkeletal Therapist +Yoga Therapist + Yoga Teacher + Certified Yoga for All Instructor + LifeForce Yoga Practitioner + Training and Experience with Anxiety Depression and Trauma

I help people living with chronic pain or illness, trauma survivors, people with non-normative-bodies, people recovering from injuries, and people living with mood disorders.

I first encountered Yoga Therapy the day I started massage school at National Holistic Institute (which is an awesome story about how the Swami came to live with my dad and teach us all esoteric yoga practices). I began my education in both concurrently in 2008, and shortly thereafter (within a few months) was working in a chiropractors office with clinical oversight and mentoring. My first therapeutic language is in eastern techniques like Shiatsu, based around traditional oriental medicine, with acupressure and other Eastern forms of energy work, combined with Western anatomy and clinical protocols. My deep tissue work is slow and focused, using a combination of myofascial release and trigger point therapy. I am told that my work is quite unique and “gets right in there”. If you are looking to track down patterns resulting from past injury, address a chronic pain, or unwind years of tension, I can help.

My yoga combines gentle and therapeutic Yoga for ALL (my students include people in their 70s, children, people without use of their arms, people with injuries, people with large bodies, trauma survivors) with evidence-based practices to increase resilience and well-being. I strive to create a sacred container for your yoga exploration, inviting you home to the truth of who you are inside.
