People living with mental illness need help and hope: they need a community that supports them, their families and their recovery. Because mental illness devastates the lives of so many Americans, NAMI works every day to save every life. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need. NAMI is the foundation for hundreds of NAMI State Organizations, NAMI Affiliates and volunteer leaders who work in local communities across the country to raise awareness and provide essential and free education, advocacy and support group programs.

Due to an unexpected water issue at the Chapel, tonight’s Peer Support Group will not be held in person. The building will be without restrooms and cannot host meetings.

Peer Support Group: Canceled for December 9th

Family Support Group will still meet via Zoom as scheduled.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and your gift to NAMI Williamsburg has a direct impact on our own community.

NAMI Williamsburg is a grassroots support, education, and advocacy organization powered by individuals living with mental illness and the families who walk beside them. We serve the Greater Williamsburg area and surrounding counties with one mission in mind: to make sure no one faces mental health challenges alone.

Every week, we offer free Connection support groups for individuals living with mental illness and Family Support groups for loved ones and caregivers. These groups create a space where people can speak honestly, find understanding, and receive guidance without judgment or cost.

We champion education so that our community understands mental illness as a real, biologically based condition. We stand with families during their hardest seasons, and we work to replace shame with knowledge, compassion, and dignity.
