People living with mental illness need help and hope: they need a community that supports them, their families and their recovery. Because mental illness devastates the lives of so many Americans, NAMI works every day to save every life. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need. NAMI is the foundation for hundreds of NAMI State Organizations, NAMI Affiliates and volunteer leaders who work in local communities across the country to raise awareness and provide essential and free education, advocacy and support group programs.

Parenting can be challenging and knowing where and how to access help is not always clear. As part of the Children’s Challenging Behaviors Workshop, parents will learn when and how to seek help for their child's mental health condition, work to develop parenting strategies, learn the ins and outs of special education and other educational supports, and discover community resources available to families and youth. One of our key resource groups that attends our event each year could use your help, and it would only take 5 seconds! The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) has been selected as a Non Profit Semi-Finalist in the Williamsburg Craft Beer Festival. If they get enough votes to become a finalist, they can share in the proceeds of the donation from the event. For those unfamiliar with NAMI, their mission is to provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
