Collaboratively presented by Stonewall Columbus and the Equitas Health Institute, the Patient Empowerment series highlights the health experiences of LGBTQ+ community members, focusing on intersectional perspectives. It's intended to amplify important issues, empowering participants to advocate for themselves and their communities.

In this session, attendees can expect candid discussions about the unique healthcare challenges faced by s*x workers, as well as strategies for advocacy and support. Participants will engage with speakers who share their experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of the intersection between s*x work and health.

Equitas Health is proud to announce that Kathryn Meyer (she/her) is the recipient of the Whole Person Health Care Champion award. Kat will be honored on October 10 at the Transforming Care Conference awards ceremony. This award recognizes a provider of health & wellness services and/or a patient advocate who has helped patients overcome racial, economic, ability, and/or language barriers to care and/or provided radically inclusive LGBTQ+ and/or HIV/AIDS healthcare.

Kathryn Meyer (she/her) is passionate about reproductive health and s*xually transmitted diseases. With over 20 years of experience working in s*xual health, Kat currently works in an Infectious Disease Clinic specializing in s*xually transmitted infections (STIs). For the past six years, Kat has focused on educating and getting people on HIV prevention medications like PrEP and PeP. When she is not talking about, diagnosing, or treating STIs, she works to stop HIV/STI stigma. By talking about it frequently and openly, Kat hopes to make the sometimes scary and heavy topic of s*xual health a little lighter.

Join us in honoring Kat Mayer at the 2024 Transforming Care Conference on October 10. 👏👏👏 This action-packed day of learning brings together healthcare providers, researchers, activists, and community members who share a commitment to LGBTQ+ and HIV health equity.

You can still register at transformingcareconference.com!
