Valley Health Associate's Executive Director, La Tonya Glover, attended a press conference on July 9th where the Hartnell College Foundation and the National Steinbeck Center announced they formally assumed ownership of the CSUMB Salinas City Center from Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB). The building will be renamed One Main Street. This marks a significant step in strengthening downtown Salinas through expanded educational access and regional partnerships.

Associate Director of Outpatient Programming, Youth & Adult (October 2024)

In October 2024, Manuel Aguilar joined Valley Health Associates as Associate Director of Outpatient Programming for Youth and Adults. He leads and oversees outpatient services, program recruitment efforts, and ensures client access to counseling, life-skill coaching, and wellness. He strives for the opportunity to transform lives and finds deep fulfillment in helping clients shift perspectives and embrace recovery.

“If you surround yourself with the right people, you'll be successful,” Aguilar said.

Prior to VHA, Manuel dedicated 22 years to the automobile industry, serving 16 of those years as Finance Director. In 2008, he transitioned into public service, joining the City of Salinas as a Street Outreach and Intervention Specialist. Here, Manuel supported youth in schools and correctional facilities, helping them develop life skills and connecting them with post-release services. He furthered his work as a Substance Abuse Officer at Soledad Correctional Facility for eight years, earning his Certification in Drug and Alcohol counseling along the way.

Born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Manuel was raised in Salinas, where he has spent most of his life. He is a proud father of four adult children. He has one brother, with his parents currently residing in Mexico.

Outside of work, Manuel loves movies, live music, dancing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is focused on continuous growth in his role at VHA, working to expand program reach while deepening his professional skills.
