Ok guys, yesterday was kinda rough! A few things to clear up: This is a contest, yes, so ONE vote per day is FREE. It is ALSO a fundraiser for Toys for Tots, so if you want to vote more than once PER DAY, yes, it asks for a donation. I do not expect anyone to pay to vote! My girls were recipients of TFTs when things were really hard a few years ago, so this charity is near and dear to my heart, but we are not paying to participate and we do not expect others to contribute. This brings the Toys for TOTs name to the forefront so even that helps. I also thinks it’s just a fun thing to do. You can vote everyday!

I know I don’t update much outside of crises, but I will try to do better this month in honor of my girl. Friday is Wear Red for CHD Day, so I hope some of our supporters will do it!

Three years ago today, Arabella and I arrived at UVA for her second open-heart surgery (the Glenn) pre-op appt. We arrived to find out she’d been bumped- why? Because another baby got a heart for transplant! We had to stay close by because Bella was in a precarious spot- almost needing admitted- but that’s the life of a heart family. While one child is on the brink of calamity, another is getting a second chance. All the while, another family is mourning the loss of their baby. Everyone tends to think of the older adult when they hear “cardiac” or “heart problems”, but every 15 minutes a child is born with CHD.
