If you didn't know, the Cold Moon graced our skies on December 15 at 4:02 AM EST, marking the final full moon of the Gregorian year. The illumination of this moon holds immense energy, inviting us to reflect, release, and embrace transformation as we prepare for the new year. Known as the Cold Moon, it signals a time of stillness and deep reflection—a perfect opportunity to honor yourself through mindful movement, energy healing, and compassionate self-check-ins.

This week, I invite you to capitalize on the potent energy of this full moon by incorporating practices that support healing and renewal.

The Power of the Cold Moon

The Cold Moon, associated with winter's stillness and introspection, encourages us to pause, reassess our journey, and shed what no longer serves us. It is a time to embrace mindfulness, slow down, and tune into your body and spirit.
What to Reflect On:Where have you grown this year?What habits, thoughts, or relationships do you need to release to step into the new year lighter?How can you honor your energy and restore your balance this month?

As the year draws to a close, the Cold Moon’s light serves as a gentle reminder that endings hold the seeds of new beginnings.

Mindful Movement for Healing and Renewal

Mindful movement, such as stretching, yoga, or sacred dance, is a powerful way to release stagnant energy and align yourself with the Cold Moon's transformative energy.

Tip: Create a sacred space for movement. Light candles, diffuse essential oils like lavender or sage, and allow your body to move intuitively. Honor every stretch, breath, and motion as a celebration of your body and spirit. Allow your body to be guided by the moonlight.

Here’s a simple movement ritual to align with the moon’s energy:

Begin with Intention – Stand still, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Visualize the moon's light flowing into your body, clearing stagnant energy.
Gentle Stretches
– Flow through gentle stretches, such as neck rolls, side bends, and hip circles, releasing tension.
Moon Salutations
– Practice a sequence of gentle moon salutations, honoring your body as a temple of healing.
Closing Affirmation
– “I release what no longer serves me and make space for renewal and light.”

Energy Healing for the Cold Moon

Energy healing practices, like Reiki, crystal healing, or visualization, can help you tap into the Cold Moon’s energy for deep emotional release.

Simple Energy Healing Tip: Hold a crystal like selenite or clear quartz during meditation. Visualize the moon’s light cleansing and recharging your body, mind, and spirit.

How are you truly feeling as the year ends? Are there emotions you’ve been suppressing that need acknowledgment and release? Have you muted your voice or hidden your greatness ?

Tip: Journaling under the full moon can be a transformative way to connect with your thoughts and process your emotions. Use the following journal prompt to guide your reflections:

What am I ready to release from this year, and what new intentions will I carry into the next chapter of my life?

In addition, you can use this time to begin reflecting on how you want your next year to look. You don't need to have all of the answers right now. But, this is a start. Remember, the natural new year begins on the Spring Equinox in March 2025. So you have plenty of time to start anew. Don't rush into anything. Allow yourself the time to rest and reflect so that when you emerge in the new year, you are truly ready to bloom.

Take a moonlit walk this week. Absorb the stillness and beauty of the night sky while repeating the mantra, “With each breath, I release and renew.”

Mindful Activity of the Week 🪷✨

Spend 10 minutes each evening journaling under soft light or candlelight. Reflect on your day and the shifts you wish to create in your life.
Bonus Tip: Add a simmer pot to your evening ritual. Simmer Pot Recipe for Renewal:

Ingredients: 1 orange (sliced), a handful of cloves, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary sprigs.Directions: Simmer the ingredients in a pot of water on low heat. Allow the aroma to cleanse your space and create a sense of peace and renewal.
