Word Play Pediatric Therapies Word Play offers speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy to children ages birth to 18 years in their homes, schools, and in our clinic.

Word Play is a family-owned business established in 2004 by sisters, Lisa Baumhofer and Amy Reynolds. Our team consists of masters-level speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. We provide play-based therapy in children's natural environments for individual, one-hour sessions. Word Play's mission is to improve the lives of our clients and their families through exceptional, unique, and fun therapy.

These are challenging times for small businesses, particularly those in the allied health fields. Big decisions are being made right now in the SC legislature related to budget and therapy coverage. Of course we can’t control all decision making but we do know that this team of therapists we have is worth fighting for. The only people more worthy are the kids we help and their families! We are so thankful for the team we’ve built over 23 years and genuinely hope we are able to help families for many years to come! Thank you to everyone who keeps emailing and calling your state representatives and senators to encourage a fully funded Medicaid budget that prioritizes kids who deserve our help and love! ❤️🇺🇸❤️

We love this time of year with its innate reminder that the most beautiful of flowers bloom in their own time. Working with our kids and their families is a wonderful daily reminder that the journey to a goal really can be the most memorable part! And how lucky are we to witness tiny miracles every week?!
