Laugh Loud Mama Integrative Nutrition Health Coach & Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor I am a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor.

I am an integrative nutrition health coach completing my certification from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I support people in finding their optimal health through nutrition, lifestyle and mindfulness. I offer virtual health coaching programs and wellness workshops to help people feel connected and joyful. The method I use is a contemporary approach to the principles of Joseph Pilates. I offer a home environment with state of the art equipment such as the reformer, chair, and tower in Franklin, MA. Pilates has a multitude of exercises centered around a mat-based workout to using spring resistance equipment. It is a physical fitness system that is suited for all ages and fitness abilities. Pilates strengthens the core of the body; the deep abdominal muscles to the deep intrinsic muscles surrounding the spine.

•Looking in the Mirror•I was recently sharing my plans about a DIY home project and my son’s response was “I don’t think you should do that.” “He felt I wasn’t up to the task.” Our kids reflect how we see ourselves. And sometimes we don’t like the reflection we see. “I want them to see me and to see what I am capable of.” But, maybe it’s not about them seeing me but about ME seeing ME. How does your perfectionism influence the choices you make? Do you ever catch yourself holding back, not moving forward, or changing direction because you’re deterred by all the ways you won’t do it perfectly?

I can tell you that I have let perfectionism stop me from doing so many things. Even posting here to Instagram gave me pause because of my fear of doing it wrong or making too many mistakes.

So ask yourself what would I do if It didn’t have to be perfect? And, what would I create if it didn’t have to be perfect?

Asking myself these questions has encouraged me to move forward despite my fear and go for things even knowing I might “fail”. Plus, my feeling is that failing just means learning.

Fall In Love with Cooking : Breakfast Edition

I wanted to jump on the shredded egg bandwagon. It’s delicious and changes the texture in a great way! If you give this a go post your pictures or comment on how it turned out. What did you eat for breakfast?

2 slices of Unbread sourdough bread lightly toasted
DF Kite Hill cream cheese
Avocado
EBTB seasoning
Fresh Spinach
1 slice proscuitto

Has cooking become a chore? Do you find yourself eating the same things? Or worse yet, your relationship with food has become one of fear and shame?

Shift those feelings by falling in love with cooking!

It doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult. Get creative!

1 Tip. Try making your favorite restaurant dish. Add some healthy tweaks or simplify it for ease.

One of my favorites meals is the Mediterranean Bowl Salad at the restaurant 3 here in Franklin. Last night, I made my own version and it was one of the easiest and fastest meals I’ve made.

Ingredients:
Spring Mix
Artichoke Hearts (Native Forest-quartered and marinated)
Mixed Greek Olives
Goat Cheese
H**p Hearts
Roasted Chickpeas (Roast at 425 for 20 min. with olive oil, salt and pepper)
Roasted Pine Nut Hummus (Sabra)
Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar
Wild Caught Salmon (cooked in cast iron skillet & seasoned with salt and pepper)

Side: Mary’s Gone Crackers - Super Seed

•Get Outside
I don’t know who is experiencing more JOY here, my golden doodle or my 10 year old.  

We spent last Sunday hiking, throwing the tennis ball for our pups, kayaking and soaking up the beautiful weather in a local park.  Being outside all day was exactly what I needed.

I notice I sometimes feel overstimulated from staring at my phone or computer.  All the screens make my brain foggy.

Other times I’ve been going non-stop checking off all the items on my “to-do” list and I feel depleted and tired.  

But, without fail, getting outside fills me up and recharges my battery.  I feel calmer and more alert after being outside.  It grounds my energy and gets me in the present moment.  I’m no longer stuck in my head or racing to the next thing.  
I’m here. Hearing the sounds of the outdoors, feeling the wind blow my hair and the sun warming my skin.  

If you feel overwhelmed, depleted or over stimulated take a moment outside.  Even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Take that moment and breathe in the fresh air.  

And when you can, scale down to your skivvies and jump in the lake with you pup!
