🎉 We’re officially opening the doors to our new home!

Join Acceptance Recovery Center, Inc. and Inclusive Recovery Athens on May 22 at 4 PM for the grand opening of our new Treatment and Peer Services location at 700 Sunset Drive, Suite 302, Athens, GA.

We’ll hear from CEO Brandy Witte Anderson, Executive Directors Michelle Craig Medlock and Danielle Carmella Bonanno, and welcome the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, board members, and community leaders.

💜 A Heartfelt Thank You from Our CEO 💜

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the holiday season wraps up, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your incredible support of our Adopt a Family Campaign.Because of you, we were able to provide every resident at Acceptance Recovery Center the joy of giving gifts to their children. The smiles and hope you’ve brought into our residents' lives are immeasurable.

Reflecting on this campaign, I can’t help but be reminded of my own journey and how it has come full circle. My story of family reunification didn’t look traditional—it came in the form of my niece, Reign, who I adopted and now call my daughter. I never truly understood the strength of a mother’s love until she entered my life. Baby Reign is the heartbeat behind the movement we’ve created at Acceptance Recovery Center. She reminds me every day why we do this work: to rebuild lives, reunite families, and provide hope in places where it may seem lost.

Recovery is not just about overcoming challenges; it’s about creating a life worth living. For many of our residents, recovery means reconnecting with their children and loved ones—healing relationships that addiction tried to steal away. This campaign was more than just gifts; it was a step toward that healing and a reminder that they are not alone in their journey.

As we move forward into the new year, let’s carry the spirit of this campaign with us. Let’s continue to show up for each other, build bridges, and prove that recovery is not only possible—it is transformative. Together, we are rewriting stories and creating a legacy of resilience and love.

Michelle Medlock, our Program Director, and Tara Kinsey, our Assistant Program Director, just earned their bachelor’s degrees in social work! Despite the many challenges life has thrown their way, they have persevered, showing incredible strength, dedication, and resilience. Their commitment to education and recovery is an inspiration to us all, and their hard work continues to uplift our residents and team at Acceptance Recovery Center.

Thank you, Michelle and Tara, for choosing recovery and leading by example. Your journey shows what’s possible when you never give up.

Call for Board Members!!!!!

Acceptance Recovery Center, Inc. and Inclusive Recovery Athens are now accepting board applications through the end of December. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about advancing recovery, equity, and inclusion to help guide our mission and strategic vision.

Board members play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization. If you or someone you know is ready to commit to a 3-year term, we invite you to apply (nominations can also be made on someone’s behalf).

Roles and Responsibilities:
✔️ Attend board meetings and related events regularly.
✔️ Actively participate and volunteer for assignments, completing them thoroughly and on time.
✔️ Stay informed by reviewing materials in preparation for meetings.
✔️ Build collegial relationships with fellow board members, fostering collaboration and consensus.
✔️ Contribute to fundraising efforts to sustain and expand our programs.
✔️ Support the organization's strategic plan and mission-driven initiatives.

Board members are instrumental in fundraising, strategic planning, and ensuring a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all that we do.
