Meet one of our fabulous SLPs, Katie!
“I was raised in Danville and after college we were living in Fort Wayne, IN, when my husband and I found out we were expecting twins. We knew in that moment coming home would be where we would want to raise our family. We moved back to Danville and have been living there ever since! Our life is completely full with a house full of teenagers, we have twin 16 year olds and a 13 year old. All three are very involved in the performing arts and you can find me being ultimate stage mom most nights and weekends. I love this phase of life and watching my children’s passions expand and explode.
When not cheering on my kids on various stages, I love to travel (discovering as many new places as possible), dive into a good novel or be out and about in nature.
I joined Ashby Therapy this year and it has been such a wonderful experience and an amazing job shift!
I knew I wanted to become a speech therapist when I was in high school. I had a friend named Joey, who lived life fully out loud. Working with him on assignments, tests and around the building ignited my passion for all things language and communication. I knew I wanted to watch those “lightbulb” moments happen in others for the rest of my life!”
