Its a beautiful fall day! Get outside and move that body while soaking up some Vitamin D! If you're up for it, take off your socks and shoes. Bare feet on the ground can help you feel more grounded and also help you regulate your nervous system.

Thinking about getting a massage, but need a little extra motivation?
"Massage is known to stimulate serotonin and dopamine, improve brain wave activity as well as quality of sleep, and activate parasympathetic response."

Let's talk about forward head posture. If your head weighs 10 pounds and the center of the ear sits directly over the center of the shoulder, the load on the spine and its tissue is only 10 pounds. However, if the head is translated forward, its weight increases 10 pounds for every inch forward. This puts a lot of extra stress and tension on the spine and often causes pain and discomfort.

Did you know that Myoskeletal Alignment Technique can help with this ever increasing posture? If this is something that is affecting you, give me a call to set up an appointment.

Our bodies are constantly sending us messages. Some we hear and notice readily (hunger, fullness, temperature regulation etc), but others we tend to ignore or dismiss until the pain, tiredness or discomfort become unbearable. Can you tune into your body and notice the subtle messages? What it is trying to communicate to you?

a fun fact about massage: touch is the first sense to develop in humans and the last to fade, there are approximately 5 million touch receptors in our skin – 3,000 alone in a finger tip.

Get outside and move this weekend! The list of benefits is long, but an often overlooked benefit is that it helps to hydrate your fascia! Enjoy the weekend :)

05/30/2019

Did you know that fascia is a 3 dimensional matrix that helps to prevent injury of muscles and bones by transmitting force?

Did you know that manual therapy and plantar massage (massage on the bottom of your foot) increase balance and help people with chronic ankle instability?

Do you have hip, knee or back pain?

Did you know that proper motion and alignment in your foot and ankle can lessen the wear and tear as well as reduce damaging knee, hip and low back compensations. Myoskeletal Alignment techniques can help restore function and movement.
