At Wake Radiology we believe in providing compassionate care, and that means offering our patients more treatment choices.

Uterine Fibroid Embolization, or UFE, is a non-surgical procedure to treat uterine fibroids.

July is Fibroid Awareness Month, making now a great time to talk to your doctor to find out if UFE could be an option for you, and get some relief without surgery from the expert team at Wake Radiology.

Learn more at wakerad.com/UFE.

Did you know there is a subspecialty of radiology dedicated to treating medical conditions?

This subspecialty, Interventional Radiology (IR), relies on modalities such as CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray to guide the radiologist during minimally invasive procedures.

IR can be used to treat a wide range of common issues, including uterine fibroids, spinal compression fractures, prostate enlargement, hemorrhoids, and knee arthritis.

This Juneteenth, we are proud to recognize Dr. Clarence Lloyd, a pioneering radiologist from Williamston, NC.

A graduate of UNC School of Medicine and the first Black radiology resident at Wake Forest, Dr. Lloyd’s career paved the way for future generations of physicians.

Beyond his contributions to radiology, he also served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War and was a devoted mentor throughout his career.

His legacy is a reminder of the power of perseverance and the importance of representation in medicine.
