Taos-Picuris Community:

We are changing our dental walk in process both because of short staffing and also to better meet the needs of our patients. We will be cutting back on walk ins so that we can increase access to appointments for full dental care and treatment.

What Stays the Same:
Walk-In Days at the Taos-Picuris Service Unit will remain Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings with required check-in as the Business Office/Patient Registration starting at 8:00 AM. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis but people with evidence of severe infection may be seen first. Patient not able to be seen may choose to wait or to go to the medical department for an appointment evaluation and pain management.

What is Different:
Dental Walk-Ins will be limited to a specific number depending on availability and staff. The number of patients that can be seen will be updated daily prior to the clinic opening and the number of Walk-Ins that can be accommodated on a given day will be clearly posted on Clinic signage. Overall we will be taking fewer walk ins so that we can deliver the best possible care to the greatest number of patients.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to continuing to serve the needs of the community!
