We're proud to share that continues to climb in U.S. News and World Report's "Best Hospitals in Rehabilitation" ranking! Coming in at No. 32 for 2025-26, we've jumped two spots from last year and five spots from the previous year.

To develop the latest top 50 list, U.S. News evaluated 1,049 hospitals around the country using data from sources like Medicare. Reviewers considered factors such as prevention of hospital readmission, patient volume, advanced technologies offered, and CARF International accreditation.

Barrow is also ranked in the “Best Hospitals for and ” category, a testament to our care across the continuum for patients with neurological diseases, conditions, and injuries.

For the second consecutive year, the Doximity Residency Navigator has ranked in , as having the No. 1 program in the United States.

As an online networking service for medical professionals, Doximity updates its Residency Navigator each year to empower graduating medical students to make informed decisions when applying for programs in various specialties. According to Doximity’s website, approximately 90 percent of graduating fourth-year use this directory.

The 2025-26 rankings culminate satisfaction surveys of current residents and recent alumni, nominations by board-certified physicians within each specialty, and objective data from various public sources.

We're proud to share that Newsweek has again named in , as one of "America's Best Hospitals for Neurological Care."

Our No. 21 ranking recognizes our dedication to providing top-tier care for conditions, specifically noting our expertise in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, neurological infections, brain tumor surgery, and spinal fusion surgery.

The media organization partnered with the global data firm Statista to compile the second annual list, which has expanded from 175 to 200 hospitals. They conducted a survey of tens of thousands of medical professionals and hospital managers, and combined those results with publicly available hospital quality metrics and patient experience survey data.

Cluster headache is the most severe and disabling disorder, but there is limited education and treatment available for the condition—especially when compared to migraine.

Lindsay Frerichs, MD, (right) a in the at , collaborated with Annika Ehrlich, DNP, FNP-C, CNRN, AQH, to perform a needs assessment for this underrepresented population. They presented their findings with a poster at the American Headache Society® 67th Annual Scientific Meeting ( ).

Drs. Frerichs and Ehrlich surveyed participants about their number of attacks per year, the time it took to receive a diagnosis, the type of specialist who diagnosed them, how has impacted their mental health, and their demographics.

The American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Cerebrovascular Section has selected President and CEO Michael T. Lawton, MD, for the 2025 Ralph G. Dacey, Jr. Medal for Outstanding Cerebrovascular Research. Dr. Lawton will formally receive the award at the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery meeting on July 15 ( ).

Dr. Dacey, a professor of neurological surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and the namesake of the award, nominated Dr. Lawton for this year’s medal. A committee of neurosurgeons and neuroscientists then selected Dr. Lawton from a pool of candidates.

The AANS/CNS Section has given the Ralph G. Dacey, Jr. Medal annually since 2019 to recognize practicing -investigators who have made game-changing contributions to our understanding of cerebrovascular diseases—from the laboratory to the clinic. The award also aims to highlight the importance of cerebrovascular and to inspire continuous scientific investigation.
