🌸 Caregiver Burnout Series – Part 4: Finding Balance Again 🌸

You’ve given so much of yourself to care for someone you love — and that takes incredible strength. ❤️ But remember: healing, rest, and balance aren’t luxuries… they’re lifelines.

When you start to feel renewed, keep that momentum going. Continue doing small things that refill your cup listen to music, take walks, laugh, cry, and let others help you.

💬 Here’s your reminder:
You are not alone. You are doing enough. And it’s okay to rest.

At Ivy Creek Hospice, we walk beside caregivers long before and long after a loved one’s final journey. Our team offers comfort, resources, and understanding because supporting you is part of our mission. 🌿

🌿 Caregiver Burnout Series – Part 3: Refilling Your Cup 🌿

You can’t pour from an empty cup and caregivers often forget that simple truth. 💧
When you’re constantly caring for someone else, your own needs can quietly slip to the bottom of the list. But taking time to refill your cup isn’t selfish it’s essential.

✨ Ways to Refill Your Cup:
• Take 10 quiet minutes just for you breathe, stretch, or pray.
• Let someone help with errands or sit with your loved one for a while.
• Get outside for fresh air and sunlight.
• Talk with someone who understands a friend, pastor, or hospice team member.
• Remember what brings you joy and make space for it again.

At Ivy Creek Hospice, we believe caring for the caregiver is part of caring for the patient. When you rest and recharge, you bring your best self back to the bedside. 💚

🌿 Caregiver Burnout Series: Part 2 Signs You’re Running on Empty

Sometimes burnout doesn’t happen all at once it creeps in quietly. You start skipping meals, sleeping less, or feeling like you’re always behind. You may even stop recognizing the person in the mirror.

Caregiving is an act of love, but love alone can’t sustain you without rest, balance, and support.

💛 Here are a few signs you might be running on empty:
• You feel guilty for taking even a few minutes for yourself
• Small frustrations feel overwhelming
• You’ve lost interest in things you used to enjoy
• You’re more forgetful, tearful, or anxious than usual
• You feel like no one understands what you’re going through

If these sound familiar, please know you are not alone. Every caregiver needs care, too.

✨ Today’s reminder:
Take one small step toward your own wellbeing today a quiet cup of coffee, a walk outside, or asking for help from a friend or professional.

Stay tuned for Part 3: “Refilling the Cup Practical Ways to Cope.”

🌸 Team Ivy Creek Hospice at the Tutu 2.2 Fun Run! 🌸

Our team laced up, donned our pink tutus, and joined the community at the Russell Medical Foundation’s Tutu 2.2 Fun Run in support of breast cancer awareness and those we love who’ve faced the fight. 💗

We walked in honor of survivors, in memory of those we’ve lost, and in hope for a future without breast cancer. Every step was filled with laughter, love, and purpose because at Ivy Creek, caring for our community extends far beyond the bedside.

🌿 Caregiver Burnout Series: Part 1 The Hidden Weight

Caring for someone you love can be one of life’s greatest honors but it can also quietly take a toll on your own health and spirit.
Caregiver burnout happens when the constant physical, emotional, and mental demands of caregiving become overwhelming. It’s more than just being tired it’s feeling drained, anxious, or even guilty for needing a break.

🕊️ Common signs of caregiver burnout:
• Feeling emotionally exhausted or short-tempered
• Withdrawing from friends and activities you once enjoyed
• Trouble sleeping or frequent headaches
• Feeling hopeless or guilty when taking time for yourself

Remember: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Recognizing burnout is the first step toward healing and you deserve care, too. 💛

✨ This week’s takeaway:
Pause and check in with yourself. How are you doing…really?

Stay tuned for Part 2 : “Signs You’re Running on Empty.”

🐾 A Special Visit from Marty 🐾
Last week, our therapy dog Marty spent some one-on-one time with one of our patients at the hospital and, of course, made a few new friends among the staff while he was there! 💛

Marty has a gentle way of bringing smiles, comfort, and calm wherever he goes. These visits remind us that healing and hope come in many forms sometimes on four paws with a wagging tail.

Thank you to our caring staff and partners who help make these moments possible.

🌿 Caregiver Self-Check 🌿

Caring for someone you love is a gift but it can also take a toll. If you’re a caregiver, pause for a moment and ask yourself:

✅ Have I slept at least 7 hours in the past 24?
✅ Have I eaten a balanced meal today?
✅ Have I stepped outside, stretched, or moved my body?
✅ Have I asked for help or said “yes” when offered?
✅ Have I done one small thing just for me this week?

If you found yourself saying “no” more than “yes,” you may be carrying too much alone. 💜

At Ivy Creek Hospice, we walk alongside caregivers, offering respite, resources, and encouragement because your well-being matters too.

✨ Take care of yourself as you care for others.
