Meet Latitude’s provider, Tina L.R. Dominguez, PA-C, MMS, who has devoted her career to food allergy care and research. As one of the founding clinicians of the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy & Asthma Research at Stanford University — alongside Dr. Kari Nadeau, beginning in 2011 — Tina contributed deeply to ground-breaking food allergy research that laid the foundation for the protocols we use at Latitude. Today, Tina provides specialized food allergy care for families in our San Ramon clinic in the SF Bay Area.

Calvin was treated at Latitude with oral immunotherapy (OIT) for milk. Recently, when he got chocolate ice cream on his treasured Latitude Unstoppable graduation t-shirt, his mom shared that “I’ve never been grateful for a stain on my kids’ clothes until now.”

Mom got that stain out, but Calvin loves ice cream — and his special shirt — so much, we think this will be a good problem to have.

Pasadena, we’re almost here! In just a few weeks, Latitude Food Allergy Care will open our newest clinic in Pasadena at 630 S. Raymond Ave. Scheduling with Dr. Alex Sidhom in Pasadena will be available soon and we can't wait to welcome you.

Families tell us again and again that the hardest part of food allergies isn’t just the food. It’s the fear, the stress, and feeling dismissed along their journey. That’s why this recent review means so much to us:
"Despite years of going to different medical specialists, this is the first time I feel compelled to write a review. I just want to say Dr Sidhom changed my life. Others with food allergies know how much of a mental and emotional challenge it is to go through reintroduction. After going to so many allergists who I honestly couldn’t trust or were very dismissive of my concerns, I finally felt comfortable enough with Dr Sidhom. He explains everything so patiently and really listens and answers all questions. I just wish I went to him years ago!"

Food allergy care should feel collaborative, deeply human, and work with your life. That’s what families experience in every Latitude clinic — and that is what’s coming to Pasadena.

If someone at your table has food allergies, extra precautions can keep them safe. Latitude allergist Dr. Akansha Ganju joined to share a few more tips for hosts this season.

But keep in mind, food allergy awareness and safer celebrations are just the beginning of the conversation — accurate testing and life-changing treatment can make every holiday season safer and more enjoyable.

We can't say she loved it, but this patient now confidently knows she's not allergic to OCTOPUS and she is excited to safely enjoy so many more dishes at her favorite restaurants!

Often, food allergy awareness focuses on the 9 most common allergens — peanuts, eggs, milk, wheat, soy, tree nuts, fish, shellfish (like shrimp, crab, or lobster), and sesame. But almost any type of food can cause a food allergy reaction. If you suspect an allergy to a less-common allergen, it's important to be tested by an allergist and discuss your options for treatment.

As millions of families navigate holiday celebrations with food allergies — whether starting eight nights of Hanukkah tonight, attending school and work celebrations, traveling, prepping for pre-during-and-post Christmas and New Year cheer, and embracing your college student's homecoming with extra gratitude today — we see you. 🩵 Through all the pre-planning, packing, explaining ingredients, and staying aware, you’re doing an amazing job keeping safe AND finding the joy in the season.

➡Here are our favorite tips to make this winter feel easier.
- When traveling, pack extra snacks you can trust, keep double doses of emergency epinephrine in your carry-on (do not allow it to be gate-checked), and have contingency plans in the event of lost luggage or an unexpected layover.
- While hand sanitizer may help fend off seasonal germs, it is not an effective cleaning agent for allergenic food proteins, soap and water are the best defense. Liquid soap, bar soap and commercial wipes are most effective at removing allergens from hands and common surfaces.
- Know how to recognize the signs of an allergic reaction and always have 2 doses of emergency epinephrine, like EpiPen®, Auvi-Q®, or the nasal spray Neffy®, easily accessible to urgently treat anaphylaxis.
- If you are actively being treated with oral immunotherapy (OIT), ensure that your allergist has provided you with a clear plan of action for dosing if you encounter seasonal illnesses, particularly fevers, coughs, and stomach bugs.

Wishing every food allergy family comfort, connection, and calm this winter.
