Some variations of Extended Side Angle
These were captured from video yrs ago so the quality isn’t the greatest & some alignment is a bit off:
*even though my upward gaze feels fine, I can see it’s not ideal in my body😉
*if I were seeking precision, my front knee could come forward a bit in a few of the pics
Still a fun pose! Great for:
*strengthening ankles/calves/knees/thighs
* stretching hips/groin
* lengthening spine & increasing lung capacity
* building focus/willpower

Such a lovely post💓

[Last night I invited a few close friends to take a private yoga class in my home with Karmen Lehman. It was my Christmas gift to them because as I get older I don’t need more stuff, I need connection, experiences and time with those who bring meaning to my life. That’s exactly what this did. Karmen met the group and instantly made everyone feel comfortable. We enjoyed her class, and afterwards everyone realized that this was something we all wanted to do more of together. We started planning when to take another one of her classes, together! Thank you Karmen for a wonderful yoga experience that I’m sure we will be doing again very soon.] Lisa D

I don’t think I need to worry about AI!
Studying with an in-person, well-trained Yoga teacher is ideal. If it were me, I’d seek out:
*One that teaches with intention, rather than simply trying to wow you with their flow sequence.
*One that offers variations, modifications & encourages autonomy.
*One that helps you quiet your mental chatter & negative self-talk to create peace/stillness, rather than focusing on their bangin’ playlist.
*One that is knowledgeable about breathwork beyond the basics, is trained in Trauma Sensitive Yoga and is a Meditation Facilitator
**bonus points if she has a background in Social Work that just always seems to shine through as she thrives on helping folks become happier, healthier, stronger & live a life with more balance and joy.
***more bonus points for reading all the way to the end of this post & realizing you do know a Yoga teacher like this~ It’s ME🙋🏽‍♀️
