The mission of Stardust Equestrian Center is introduce people, especially with disabilities or challenges, to the power of the horse. Children & Adults

The mission of Stardust Equestrian Center is to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities by promoting horsemanship and equestrian skills as a safe, fun method of recreation and therapy. Stardust works to develop confidence, positive self-image, and hope in participants through riding, horse care, and social interaction. In addition, Stardust supports parents, caregivers, family,

and teachers by developing and striving for achievable goals to aid the participants’ everyday life as well as helping participants to reach their individual potential. We offer therapeutic riding lessons, some typical riding lessons, comet classes, and pony rides. Therapeutic riding lessons are for riders from 2 up who have been diagnosed with a physical, mental, or emotional disability. We focus on safety, horsemanship, and of course riding! Comet classes are designed to allow groups of 10-20 people come learn about horses and riding. Each rider will receive a short "mini-lesson" on stopping, walking, steering, and even trotting if they want. Our horse leaders stay with the riders to ensure their safety and fun. This is a great option for scouts and riders older than 6 years old (although we don't impose an age limit.) Pony rides are our newest offering! We offer hand-led pony rides for small to large groups on our wonderful therapy horses. Even though they are called pony rides, we have horses who participate, so even parents can have a chance to ride. We offer rides at our farm in Madison County, or can come to you!

JJ has made it to Camp Twin Lakes! Her mischief is getting shared with campers this summer. We expect her to have a lot of fun and smile for many riders!

Had a great time this morning at the Marigold Parade in Winterville! Even though it was a little wet, we hung in there and enjoyed riding.

Also, JJ's "mare-igold" costume got an upgrade this year.

Introduced JJ to bubbles yesterday. She is not sure that this is safe!!

Bailey was chilling on her own, Jasper remembered bubbles and said they aren't bad at all. Mage wanted to know if he could eat them, or at least get snacks for standing in them. :)

Snow again!!

The horses and goats are well insulated - notice how the snow is piled up, even on their ears. This means that their hair and blankets are doing what they are supposed to - keeping the warmth in and the cold out. If the snow hit them and melted, we would have cold, wet horses. Instead, they are damp on top but doing fine!

Warm (or at least wet) alfalfa cubes for the horses tonight. Do you like JJ's lipstick?
