In this case, the canals were fully negotiated, and the treatment was completed successfully after extensive work with hand files and rotary files. The tooth needs a new crown.

This patient presented with severe pain from the cracked #30. It was very difficult to anesthetize this "hot tooth." After seven cartridges of IAB, LB, intra-ligamental, and intra-pulpal, RCT was completed. The patient felt better after the treatment. The tooth had five canals - two distal and three mesial canals.

Retreatment case from 2016.
The patient came in this week to have another tooth evaluated.
In 2016, Dr. Kim performed the retreatment in two visits due to large periapical lesion at the time. The lesions have healed over the years. The initial RCT was good (done by another operator in another state) ; however, the success of endodontic treatment depends on many factors, including root canal anatomy, the patient's health (immune system) and the type of bacteria involved.
