Yes, is a major tourist destination, but for a good reason 😋 We came back multiple times for the iconic beignets and cafe au lait combo. The beignets are served hot and fresh, and all of them are consistently soft and fluffy 🥐 Naturally, they come in bags filled with excessively necessary amounts of powdered sugar 🙌

Can’t stop by NOLA without digging into a classic Cajun seafood boil at 🦀 🌶🥵 This isn’t a meal, it’s a whole *experience* complete with aprons and gloves. Those Cajun spices pack some serious heat so we took our time cleaning out every last bite of crab and crawfish 🦞

Look what washed up on the 👀 🌊 This crab roll hit all the right notes with a generous lump of juicy crabmeat stuffed into a buttered roll 🦀🍞The light lemon butter sauce was perfectly balanced with the natural freshness of the crabmeat! It’s one of the pricier items on the menu, but 100% worth👨‍🍳💋

We were blown away by and their masterful pit BBQ 🍖 We crowded our tray to try as many meats as we could — brisket, ribs, burnt ends, and tri-tip with sides of Mac and cheese, baked beans, collard greens and BBQ fried pork skins 🥩🐷 All the meats were juicy, tender, and perfectly smoky, although the burnt ends were by far our favorite 🤌🔥

📍Downtown Frederick, Maryland is so so pretty! It’s a beautiful place with nice architecture and many small shops and restaurants. We dropped in at for some wagyu burgers 🍔 and sweet potato fries 🍟 before heading over to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine across the street. They have outdoor seating options which is great for avoiding crowded spaces//

I’m obsessed with these handmade udon noodles from 🍜 They’re delightfully chewy and soak up all the flavors from the dish 😋

Their signature beef udon is a highlight with a savory broth and thinly sliced seasoned pieces of beef. Also recommend the Kamo-nanban with a lighter duck bonito broth and tender pieces of duck breast 🦆

If you’re not feeling a soup noodle, their Mentaiko Kamatama is a creamy spicy cod roe udon packing a powerful umami punch

Sipping on some Ube Coffee at ☕️ The ube dessert craze is everywhere now, but surprisingly this is the first place I’ve visited with an Ube coffee. Needless to say, it did not disappoint 🥳

The ube syrup has some powerful ube flavor, which I accidentally discovered by sipping the bottom pure syrup directly with a straw 😅 It’s super aesthetic layered, but definitely recommend mixing first to get a nice blend of ube and coffee flavors together!

Reminiscing on some precovid dining experiences, like this bluefin tuna toro handroll from Tsukushinbo 🐟 They're a small Japanese restaurant tucked in Seattle's international district, serving up some serious Japanese eats

They feature an impressive selection of Japanese specialties -- some favorites are their grilled appetizers (salmon, squid, yellowtail!), Katsu curry, unagi-don, and, of course, their sushi 🍣

That bluefin tuna is nothing short of luxurious. Lightly seasoned rice balances out fatty, rich Toro, wrapped in a delicate, crisp handroll 🥺

adventures 🥳🥳// continues with “braised beef short ribs” by in the Instant Pot and watching for the first time!

-sauce: combine and blend onion, pear, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, Mirin, soy sauce in food processor or blender
-pour sauce over short ribs in Instant Pot and coat evenly
- Set pressure release to Sealing and select Meat/Stew for 35 mins
on High Pressure
- Once done, stir in chopped daikon and carrots and set to Manual for 3 mins at High Pressure
-Sprinkle on sesame seeds and green onions

adventures 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳//instapot is so good for quickly whipping up a hearty, hot 🥵 meal of spicy beef + bean 😋 Sauté some bell pepper, onion 🧅, celery, garlic 🧄, and salt🧂together in your instant pot for 5 min, add beef for another 5. Next stir in chili powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, tomato paste, beans, and tomatoes🍅 before setting the pot to 20 mins at high pressure 💪the recipe is from “The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook” by 📖 ✨🧅🥩🍲🧂🥄

Love to see a restaurant that only specializes in one thing — the quality has to be through the roof 👌 is all about their Chinese Saeurkraut Fish, a delicious stew of tilapia slices, pickled mustard greens (saeurkraut!), ginger, peppercorn, and chilis. It’s tart, savory, spicy, and dripping with oils and umami all at once, without ever being too overwhelming 🐠🌶🥘
