Every year I see the debate of “when’s the right time to put up your Christmas tree”

The right time is when YOU want to. If it brings you joy then do it!

As I sit here this morning staring into my twinkling tree, my mama heart is happy. There’s a peacefulness in the glow. It’s brought joy.

So many people are turned off by the idea of consuming their placenta after giving birth but don’t consider the benefits. I just had to share these sweet photos of a baby I had the privilege of seeing come into the world. This was one of those births you just felt like you were meant to be at. The absolute best part of my job is feeling like I make a difference in my clients birth experiences and getting cute pictures of their babies is a great bonus!

I think one of the things I hear the most when I talk to someone about their past birth experience is that they wish they would of had more knowledge going into their labor. That they would of done things differently if they knew this or that. To me that is one of the biggest reasons to hire a doula. The power of a doula is often their knowledge and experience. When you are faced with a decision you didn’t expect to have to make a doula can talk it through with you and answer questions so you feel better about making that choice. When your labor is stalling and the nurses have tried everything a doula might have a few more tricks in their bag. When you become overwhelmed and loose sight of things you wanted your doula can remember for you. A doula is another brain in the room who wants the same things you want and who is going to do everything in their power to support you.
