Yesterday, CareFirstNY’s Director of Community Impact, Cindy Lewis, had the honor of attending a luncheon to accept a $2,000 check from Rotary Club of Corning, New York and Rotary District 7210 in support of our upcoming Good Grief Week activities in Steuben County.

We’re so grateful for this generous support, which will help provide free, healing-centered events for children and teens navigating grief and loss in our community 💛

Activities begin August 11 ➡️ Visit CareFirstNY.org/events to learn more!

“Unconditional Love.”

Those were the final words a mother held onto—even after brain cancer had taken her speech, mobility, and strength. Her son, David Fajgenbaum, carried those words forward, dedicating his life to helping others find hope in the face of devastating illness.

At CareFirstNY, we witness these moments of profound love and resilience every day. Whether through hospice care, grief support, or mental health services, we walk beside families as they face loss—and help them carry forward the light of those they love.

This story from Humans of New York reminds us: even when illness takes so much, love and spirit often shine through 💙💛🧡

Grief doesn’t come with instructions—especially for children. It can show up as outbursts, withdrawal, confusion, or even play.

In hospice, our work is deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally heavy. That’s why taking a moment for small treats and self-care matters ✨

In honor of National Hot Dog Day, CareFirstNY invited our team to drop by for a picnic lunch—a chance to pause, reflect, and recharge within another busy day spent caring for others across our 2,000+ square mile service area 🌭🥤🚗🛣️

To our incredible team (especially the camera shy ones): thank you for all you do!! You deserve all the treats and every moment of care, too 💙💛🧡
