Meet Jason! 😁
He’s been working hard on his functional mobility—both in and out of his wheelchair—as well as daily tasks like dressing and building overall strength.

Here’s why Occupational Therapy (OT) plays such a crucial role:

Adaptive equipment empowers people to complete everyday tasks more independently, boosting their quality of life and sense of autonomy. Occupational therapists help incorporate tools like sock aides, shoe horns, reachers, button hooks, and modified utensils into daily routines.

For Jason, using a sock aide was a game changer—it helped him reach his goal of independently dressing his lower body. We’re so proud of his dedication and this amazing accomplishment!

Creating the Perfect Virtual Therapy Space at Home

Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions—with the right setup! Here are 3 simple tips to help your child stay focused and get the most out of their teletherapy:

✅ Choose a Quiet Spot
Pick a space away from TVs, siblings, or pets. Even a corner of a room can work if it’s consistent and calm!

🪑 Keep it Comfortable (but Not Too Cozy!)
Use a child-sized table and chair if possible. Sitting upright helps with focus and participation.

🎒 Have Supplies Ready
Gather materials ahead of time—crayons, paper, fidget tools—whatever your therapist recommends. A small therapy basket nearby can work wonders!

💡 BONUS: Let your child personalize their space with a drawing or sticker—it gives them ownership and pride in their therapy time.
