To our valued patients and community,
We wish to announce an important change regarding our clinic, Family Planning of Western Illinois. Family Planning of Western Illinois is closing, but the crucial health care we offer will continue under new direction and management.
This decision has not been made lightly, as we have proudly served the community with essential health care services since 1976. Changes in medical care can be challenging and confusing and we know that our patients will have questions and concerns. We sympathize with patients whose primary care is impacted by this decision and know that these changes are happening quickly. Our focus has been to identify the best option for providing our patients with the care they rely on, whether it be with our organization or an organization poised to do so with the resources and talent our patients deserve.
We have identified just such an organization in Central Illinois Friends — a local nonprofit serving the Central Illinois region since 1990. We are pleased to announce that Central Illinois Friends will be expanding their presence in the community, stepping up to provide all services that Family Planning has historically offered, now under the Central Illinois Friends organization. Central Illinois Friends is committed to ensuring that the same high-quality care is available, accessible, and affordable for our current patients and new patients. They expect to begin seeing patients in mid-July in the current Family Planning clinic space in the Bondi Building (311 E. Main St. #409). This transition reflects a shared commitment from both Family Planning Service of Western Illinois and Central Illinois Friends to continue delivering crucial health care to the Knox County and Central Illinois communities.
Current Family Planning patients who wish to transfer their care to Central Illinois Friends or another medical provider can obtain a medical records release form at the Family Planning Service clinic located at 311 E. Main St., Suite #409. Patients can also request a copy of the release form by emailing executivedirector@familyplanningservice.net or through the following link: https://tinyurl.com/FamilyPlanningPacket
(Please note that our clinic is closed today, 6/19, in observance of Juneteenth. Normal clinic hours will resume on Monday 6/23)
